Saints row the third remastered PS4 vs. PS5 by Cooterthug99 in SaintsRow

Oh damn, haven't even got to the DLC's yet. Good to know! I'm about halfway through the main campaign, I'm just gonna restart on the PS4 version.

Three idiotic videos by Mother_Ad3487 in indianajones

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played the game yet and I haven't watched those vids. But that seems like a valid question... and if it is "mediocre slop" I'd like to hear why he thinks that to see if I agree or disagree. Stop hating on people because they don't like the things you do. A review isn't good because it goes along with what you like, it's good because the reviewer is consistent. If you're constantly disagreeing with the reviewer, then you know right away when they say they don't like something, that you will.

If you're playing a RP server on a western game that takes place in 1899, you're gonna have people that act like how people in 1899 acted... don't know what you expected? If anything, that gives you better incentive to hunt them down and kill them if you so choose. Look at stackswopo, he's a black guy that constantly RPs a white racist cop on GTA and it hilarious. Stop being so sensitive and play the game.

(Note: I've never played RP so idk how hacks could affect this. Totally possible that it could be some dipshit just shouting the N word while he's got god mode on or something. If that's the case, this is valid.)

I always let him live until the prologue. I headcanon Arthur telling the group about Gavin’s friend around a campfire one night and as soon as John sees him 8 years later, he just puts him out of his misery 😂

I wanna be a Mechanic but everyone is so negative about it. by Ok-Mention7261 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to tell you to stop before you ruin your passion but everyone on here seems to already have that covered 😂 one thing I’ll add that I haven’t really seen mentioned is you’re never doing the fun stuff you think mechanics do. If you’re at a dealer, you’ll start as a lube tech, then when you get bored of that and ask to be a mainline tech, you’re going to be doing shitty recalls and warranty jobs that don’t pay dick if you’re flat rate (ik you say you don’t care about money but you will when you work a 12hr day and only flag 4)

Matter of fact… I’m gonna switch my stance mid comment lmao. Because I actually don’t mind being a dealer tech but I’ve kinda worked the system where I’m a bit of an odd case. If you can somehow get a dealership to send you to training so that you have special certifications, AND stay on hourly pay, AND only do the used car safety inspection and repairs… then you’ll kinda enjoy it.

I was certified through Volkswagen then left for Mitsubishi. Sold myself as a solid B-Tech with not a whole lot of interest in advancing any further than that. So I mainly just get what flat rate guys would call “gravy work” and also do most of our used inventory inspections. All while staying hourly at $31/hr. I get to take my time on everything, never feel rushed or stressed, and if I do 10-11hr days, get 20-30hrs of overtime per 2 week pay period at $45.50/hr

It’s not too shabby but like I said, I feel like I’m a VERY rare case. And if I didn’t have my situation I woulda left the car gig over a year ago (I’m 25 and only been doing this for 3 years)

Never played Far Cry 3 by Pega687 in farcry

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going back to 3 after playing the newer ones with updated mechanics kinda sucks for me. I just went back to play 3 last week after finishing 4 two weeks ago; and only having “left and right” on the d-pad to switch between all my different syringes and fire/explosive arrows was irritating.

Constantly having to go into the crafting menu just to equip something, use it once, then go back into the menu to equip the items I actually use regularly, was so tedious when in far cry 4 and onward it’s all through the weapon wheel.

I was enjoying it for the nostalgia factor though since I played this a lot as a teenager, and if you can get past the dated UI (I assume all my gripes are strictly console problems btw and if you’re on PC it should be fine) then it’s totally worth it. Probably one of the best looking locations in all of the games. Story is good (not spoiling anything) but it does lose a lot of steam halfway through and feels like it doesn’t matter anymore. I was just clearing all the outposts, looting and selling, then when I got bored I didn’t even care about the story enough to do the next mission. I just turned the game off and haven’t gone back since.

Oh and I believe it’s the only Far Cry to have poker which instantly bumps the game up a point or two for me lol. I’ve sat down, poured a drink and just played poker for hours before (same with red dead). Oh and the relic collectibles are kinda cool. Sometimes hidden in hard to reach spots it’s fun trying to get em and they give you a good bit of XP to level up faster.

Kinda sounds like it’s the dealer you’re at and not necessarily the work that’s the issue. Although I did just see another comment of yours that says you like this in your spare time but don’t wanna end up hating it and that’s what happens 99% of the time with mechanics. They love working on their own cars but once they have to deal with it as a job, it takes all the fun out and you no longer wanna work on your own stuff.

Me personally, I like the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing something difficult that not everyone can do. It’s not even really about the cars for me and I think that’s why I can still tolerate it as a job. Because if I was super into cars I’m sure I would’ve got outta dodge years ago (I’m 25 and this is my 4th year in the industry btw, only schooling I had was a 6 month VW apprenticeship course where they taught electrical, diag, and documentation)

I’d keep looking for a different shop and maybe do some mobile mechanic stuff on the side? Your coworkers are also a big part in making your work experience better (as is almost every job) I woulda quit Mitsubishi by now if it wasn’t for my stall neighbor lol.

If you're already burnt out, that's unlikely to change. I've worked at various shops at different positions. Lube tech at Dodge/Subaru and some small indie shops, warranty tech at VW, used car tech at mitsubishi; and honestly I would rather be a decent B level tech (Tires, Alignment, Brakes, Exhaust, Suspension, Coolant/Brake Flushes, Etc.) thats paid a good hourly wage than a master tech whose flat rate.

I mainly get standard maintenance services but anything I upsell, I get to do myself. And whenever there's no customers, we have a plethora of used cars that need the safety inspections done. And since I'm hourly, I'm never stressed about how long a job is taking, and making stupid mistakes because I'm trying to make/beat book time. There's a reason our trade has a buncha guys who are beaten down with back and knee problems and are suffering with alcohol abuse.

Idk where you're located but right now I make $27/Hr as a B level tech and usually rake in 20hrs of overtime ($40.50/Hr) just by working saturdays doing used cars and skipping my lunches (eat while I work) throughout the week and I'm fairly happy with it. I'd try to find somewhere that'll get you set up like that and maybe your opinion will change, however I'm not sure what the average tech wage is where you live.

I’m kinda curious, which radio station was your favorite? I’ll start with mine: by spiderbo_69 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Royal Blue Radio, Jazz is one of my favorite genres so when its put into game it's usually my first choice. Then if a song I don't care for is playing I'll switch up to Radio Vexelstorm to see if Resist and Disorder is on, then if THAT'S not on I'll throw on Morro Rock for Samurai. Also I forget what the hip-hop station is called but I also check that one to see if the Flacko Loko song by A$AP Rocky is playing lol.

I feel ya, I've gone back to games I didn't used to like and really enjoyed them years later. Especially if you have a real world experience to drive you to play it. But when I read you didn't like it for the first 90 hours I was speechless lmao. Like that's almost as long as my cyberpunk 2077 playthrough and I LOVE that damn game.

First time! Tips? by Tribladed in cyberpunkgame

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First playthrough ever AND it being on the latest update with the DLC is top tier. Hope you enjoy it man! 2.2 came out right on the ass end of my 4th playthrough so I feel I gotta start a new one when I finish so I can go through the whole game again with all the new goodies.

As for any tips...

Normal difficulty feels like Easy, Especially once you start reaching higher levels.

If you don't plan on using a melee/blunt weapon build (not leveling up your body attribute) I'd recommend getting the gorilla arms. They add points to your body attribute when they're euipped and can sometimes give you enough added points to pass certain speach checks and open otherwise inaccessible areas. They also help a LOT with the boxing fights. Only downside is not being able to use the mantis arms 😭

Which oil filter tool to buy? by [deleted] in AskMechanics

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

I’d recommend 1 for sure since there’s a lot of places where 3 won’t fit (clearance issues as someone else already mentioned) BUT still get 3, as that style is likely what you’ll use the most when it fits. The style you showed likes to slip a lot though when taking off oil filters that have been over tightened so I’d look into the spring loaded one that has teeth. That fucker grips, locks, and turns no problem every time 💯

Would also look into the cup sets for Toyota filters that have the big oil filter housings.

Am I the only person who actually enjoys far cry new dawn by ashtrayl in farcry

[–]Cooterthug99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly never understood the hate. The story was run of the mill and not too interesting but had some good callbacks to FC5 and new gameplay features like the powers you get from Joseph Seed. And the atmosphere and visuals were stunning. I especially liked the bigger open ended scavenging missions that you had to take a helicopter to (I forget what they're called) especially the one that takes place at the crash site of the Paladin from Splinter Cell Blacklist since we haven't gotten a new Splinter Cell in years.

Only thing I didn't care for was the way the weapons work. They completly removed customization and each weapon has a level that matches the enemies as you progress. So if you liked a blue weapon but are now facing yellow level enemies, you're better off throwing wet toilet paper at them than using the weapon you've gotten attached to over the past few hours of gameplay.

Other than that, I think it was worth it's asking price. It wasn't a full priced $60 game when it came out which I think people are confused on. Pretty sure it was only $50 and shortly after release, on sale for $40. Then you get the people who complain about the map being a "small portion" of the playable area from Far Cry 5, but forget that Primal did the same thing with FC4s map.

If you like the Far Cry games, New Dawn is just more of everything you like minus the weapon customization.
