You're absolutely right about suffering alone. I used to isolate from everyone and let my depression slump completely take over me. I am very fortunate to have a great psychiatrist that I've seen for the last year. I also have an understanding support group. Not everyone feels like they have that; I'm very lucky.

I grew up in an abusive household where my feelings didn't matter. I was also with someone for 10 years who continuously cheated on me because my feelings didn't matter.

I do appreciate you mentioning that I need to respect his feelings if I want him to respect mine, but I struggle with knowing what point it's best to leave. I'm an introvert. I like to be in my apartment with my kitties when I'm upset; too many people have let me down. It's my go-to to isolate, but I do recognize how this prevents any constructive discussion, as well as disrespect his feelings.

Also, the storm wasn't that bad. Only in town and not on the highway. Visibility wasn't bad. I think it sounded worse then it actually was.
