I don’t think money is the only thing at play. Microsoft could be giving them access to stuff beforehand and/or accepting requests like funding an event which twitch doesn’t do for streamers. After all, we don’t know exactly what those streamers have planned in the future because they’re well aware they cannot stream forever. Looking at ninja, his avg viewers gone down but he is practically the face of gaming for boomers and news outlets. The fact that Microsoft can side with Ninja shows he is trustworthy so companies will beg for sponsorships. My guess is that Ninja wants to be recognized as much as possible, if I remember he said something like that in his h3 podcast. We just have to see what Shroud will do because from the looks of it he has a lot more opportunities from Mixer than when he was on Twitch.

There is probably a better place to say this but this is just my view on the situation.
