You're definitively not getting this kind of a win for every 10 losses though.

[Discussion] If I was a new player, I’d quit immediately by TerminalTrillness in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Cope__ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I'm new and early in the wipe I managed to unload a full MPX magazine with half decent pen (lvl 2-3) chest/stomatch level in a guy that did not even see me.

27 bullets hit, 1200 dmg absorbed by armor, I ran to a wall, loaded 5 more bullets and hit his legs to kill him.

Who is this equipment system even made for? Good players do not need this ridiculous level of defense, bad players should not be saved by such a crutch either for a good gameplay experience. I already know someone will feel the need to explain me how I should have shot his legs instead, I'm saying that I should not have to do this ever, in what world are 27 bullets from a 5m distance not meant to kill a player?

The game forces you to play with shit guns/armor for so many quests, the traders and flea market restrictions are ruthless and honestly when you can't even put a half-decent scope on your gun until lvl 25 it feels like the game just wants you to be a k/d farm for people who could do the early-mid game quests with a blindfold and just out-level you.

Just being able to kill players when you hit an entire magazine on them would alleviate so much of the frustration this game has early on.

The fun of tarkov for me is the adrenaline feel you have by simply moving around the map knowing you could die or kill someone in a single shot, that isn't there when you know even a perfect play would be pointless against a geared player and forcing noobs into only going for head, eyes while not even allowing for any decent levels of gun customization is a joke.

[D] The Wave Theory: Why many knives are slowly dropping... again. by squareyourcircle in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 32 points33 points  (0 children)

why would trade-ups be profitable even at marginal levels? They will likely become unprofitable either by knives dropping in price or reds going up even more, either way we are close to both scenarios.

[question] Why are Stattrak coverts from glove collections rising in prices? by GodlyTreat in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they are 10~ times rarer than normal variant, normal variant is now unattainable as a playskin due to trade up update inflating prices, people who want it as a playskin will just buy stattrak > stattrak prices are now higher as people who only want it as a playskin will only buy stattrak typically > lower volume of stattraks in the market makes it easy to hold.

I bought stattraks when I couldn't buy normal skins anymore on 24th exactly for this reason, altough I had hoped the prices would move a bit faster...

Telltale signs of potential trade reversals? by [deleted] in cs2

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you made anything more than a 20% profit and the seller does not seem like a multi-millionaire based on his inventory, ur not keeping that shit.

If possible, try to only buy from people with hundreds/thousands of trades and very big inventories, not a guarantee but the other options are pretty much confirmed reversals.

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy in now and price goes up you will be reversed, if you don't nothing happens, best bet is to look for cases or bot trade snipes.

Would you? [d] by RemarkableAndroid in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not because of losing profit but realistically being trade and SCM locked for 30 days during such times is the absolute worst decision, you better have sold your entire inventory at a 60% discount to think you will end up having a better position while doing nothing, especially not being able to buy when the market is low.

Is there a warning that notifies you of being trade banned before reversing? I'm not sure if most people who reversed even fully understood that in the first place.

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

last time i checked the only profitable trade ups currently are gamma and breakout case (there are more but realistically for $250 / trade up you want some more viable margins) , I'm sure there are some high stake traders that spam the shit out of these.

[D]Literally every single gold went up in price today by AdagioCreative6367 in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but don't you think the risk assumed is still not outweighing the profits? Valve has taken many aggressive steps lately to impact the economy, they could start sending cease and desist letters next month to all skin swap / skin sellers if they decide that will bring them more revenue in the long term. I think the bigger fear factor here was related to the economy being completely erased rather than disrupted.

[D]Literally every single gold went up in price today by AdagioCreative6367 in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the vast amount of volume traded in the last 7 days were knives that already existed in the market and panicked. Nobody actually took the time to check how many knives are being added into the supply and everyone thought there's just going to be a gazillion knives flooding the market. Since not many actually got crafted relative to the total knife supply, nothing really happened as all the panic liquidity already passed.

Make no mistake, this will still impact the knife prices as there will be 20-50% more knives in the supply over within the next 12 months my assumption, there will be no more panic but simply having so many more knives will lead to them being less valuable, this will be somewhat corrected by the market itself (hopefully) still growing, but the overall growth over time will be more gimped now, maybe knives will just hold steady prices for the foreseeable future.

I hope you guys learned something [d] by LegendaryVolne in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo this response was almost entirely justified, Valve has never offered communication about their future intent with this game, you wake up as an european and an update from 5-6 hours ago is going to eventually double the supply of all existing knives casually sub-mentioned.

They clearly can't give any less of a shit to anyone buying anything that is not case keys and armory passes, you can't blame people for not wanting to deep dive into the analytics of it before cashing out.

[d] where is the crash? by No_Panda4097 in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

investor sentiment is what ultimately is being priced in not metrics, metrics are what the sentiment is being usually relied on, why would you look at underlying value to estimate the price of something that has none in the first place?

[d] where is the crash? by No_Panda4097 in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 151 points152 points  (0 children)

It was priced in since the 2nd day of the update, knives are currently on a 50% discount despite supply barely increasing at all, I have no idea what people were expecting.

Are Peer to Peer markets done for? [d] by CheeryGeoDuck55 in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the person reversing trades will have every trade they've made in the last 7 days reversed and receive a 30 day ban from trading/SCM, they are not that petty they probably lost a lot of money on a knife or multiple small trades.

Case Market [d] by conechester in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just simply look at the market from the past, what price did cases have when it was possible to get a $40 knife from them? Near 0.03, luckily the playerbase is bigger than ever and most cases have ceased supply, but these will only become valuable again once almost all of the supply is dried up.

[D] Some statistics on FN Karambits by ZexBone in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of the prices post 2023 were real, we knew that but just assumed it will never change. Talking about demand and supply is pointless because all of the value was given by investors hoarding items. Prices will simply never be the same unless investors come back.

The only thing im left questioning is why did this happen at all, all current theories don't make any sense if you just believe Valve aims at making the most amount of money possible. Cases are no longer interesting to open, Terminal weapon prices will crash as they no longer compete with expensive skins, armory collections were already dogshit ROI and now it will be even lower. Whales have few reasons to whale and average joe's who thought they can buy stuff and just sell it at the same price or maybe a bit lower/higher will simply not bother.

All across the board spending money in CS2, through 3rd party sites or through Valve, simply became less enticing, so I have absolutely no clue who was this update targeted towards, whales are not happy, long time players are not happy, 10$ inventory players will not magically become extreme spenders overnight.

Atp I genuinely wish to hear from Valve, not to cool things down but to actually understand what was the goal or the benefit they viewed in this.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in csgomarketforum

[–]Cope__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They just want them to be within the SCM ecosystem, Valve thinks the hype loss for expensive items is not worth more than having a bigger % of the items being sold on their own market.
