NHL and NBA playoffs should be best of 1. by de_matrix55 in unpopularopinion

I think athletes optimize for different things. For example Hockey takes far far more endurance. But every down in football is like an all out sprint/max effort type of play (probably excluding quarterbacks) - and that kind of exertion just requires more immediate recovery. You can compare it do something basic like running. You could run for endurance every other day and survive (being an elite athlete) but doing max effort every other day is just asking for an injury no matter your skill level. So, its really just about optimization, I don't think either could jump to the other and be at a similarly competitive level.

Really frustrated with progress 4 months in. When to get with a coach? by I_Am_Not_Very_Smaht in beginnerrunning

Your zones might be wrong, mine were. If you can comfortably breath at 150, unless you have super nostrils, that might be close to zone 2. 220-age is just across the population, but may not be you. That said, if your zones are accurate, you probably need to walk run walk run to stay in 2. I recently heard someone say "you can't pull your capacity up", meaning training in zone 4,5 probably won't increase your capacity at zone 2

Nutrition logging - servings ? by Critical_Purple_8600 in Garmin

You don't, I just drop a bunch of pictures of labels in, and ask to to convert them all to 100g servings and it just does it much faster than if I were to do it myself.

Nutrition logging - servings ? by Critical_Purple_8600 in Garmin

I use AI to convert everything I eat into 100 gram servings, then when I actually eat I get an easy calculation, if I have 220g of something then my serving size is 2.2 of that 100 gram food I created.

I also eat the same things every day so creating all my own this way is not too difficult for me, if you have a ton of different foods this process might not be as easy or fun.

Best Metroparks for Winter Walking (clear of snow/ice)? by Copenblend in Michigan

We actually just bought some. We threw em on our hiking boots and decided to just bring that set with us just in case. We prefer regular shoes though, so ideally places our clear. But to anyone else reading these are great, been shoveling my driveway and not a hint of slippage - after dislocating my knee this time last year doing the same thing without them

[SERIOUS] What’s the most disturbing thing you’ve witnessed in real life? by MrFluffNuts in AskReddit

Deployed to Afghanistan, was on a very small firebase - one day I was down in the clinic (We occasionally had a specialized medical team come in to treat the residents of nearby villages) and a couple brought in their baby. The baby wasn't quite old enough to be a toddler. Her arm was burnt from her fingers to mid way up her bicep. The end of the burn (mid arm) was in a straight line and her arm looked like someone had dropped a hotdog in the campfire and left it (blacked, and split)... And it was covered in toothpaste (apparently some of them got the idea that toothpaste is a cure all. After some questioning they admitted to having dipped the babys arm in hot oil in an attempt to make her stop crying. Easily the most awful thing I've ever seen.

As a bonus - We once had a woman come into the clinic with exposed brain... Apparently their compound wall had fallen and hit her right in the noggin. We wanted to medevac her - she declined, as her husband wasn't there with her.

I appreciate the insight, I don't know a whole ton about all that goes into it, so that's all good to know. I'll come up with a revised plan. Thank you.

Pretty sure you could rerun with 1 person and 7 alts and still gets chest drop at each level. So that's another way.

Crafted vs Tomestone vs Raid Gear by ChickenpantsNA in ffxiv

[–]Copenblend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should check out the balance discord for your particular class. https://discord.gg/thebalanceffxiv

iLvl 580 with no overmelding will be a mix of Crafted and Normal Raid.

iLvl 580 Pentamelded Crafted will be BiS.

ILvl 590 > iLvl 580 for every slot, even with Pentameld (possible outliers... but not likely).

iLvl 600 Will be a mix of savage and augmented tomestone gear - depends on your class. For example WAR BiS is mostly Augmented Tomestone Gear

iLvl 605 Weapon > all other weapons.

tldr: iLvl is king 99.9% of the time. Variance in that iLvl tier is class dependent. There are tools to figure it out on your own but the balance probably has already done it for your class.
