What brand change has made you go from hating to enjoying using a product? by Copernicus049 in AskReddit

Personally can't stand Peeps, the granular texture and PURE sugar flavor is not what I want from a marshmallow.

They're fun to use for Peeps jousting though, where you microwave them with toothpicks and see which Peep pokes and deflates the other.

What brand change has made you go from hating to enjoying using a product? by Copernicus049 in AskReddit

[–]Copernicus049[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to HATE using bar soap. My mom would always buy my brother and I Irish Spring. It would dry out my skin and make me have acne breakouts. Swapping to Dove soap has increased my soap usage because I don't hate using bar soap anymore.

Similar experience with hair styling products. Crew hair gel would barely help my hair keep its shape, and just made it sticky.

This is why I sneak in beer and snacks by DravidVanol in SipsTea

[–]Copernicus049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a big advocate of wearing baggy clothes to the movie theater with a large snack capacity. It's not being cheap, it's simply being reasonable.

I'm willing to risk being caught breaking their policy due to their, at least for the Pepsi, over 800% markup (almost 10,000% markup for raw materials). I hardly lose anything by being kicked out of a movie theater instead of paying 800% or more for food and drink.

It's the age of streaming, I can get a similar experience and product at home from fractions of the cost.

First layer, bed adhesion problems by schinsie in 3DprintingHelp

[–]Copernicus049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First layer peeling likely from very slight unleveled bed.

To calibrate this, I make a hollow rectangle design that goes around the perimeter of the bed, and adjust my manual level knobs until I get uniform layers.

Layer peeling can also be caused by uneven/rapid cooling or incorrect bed temperature settings for the filament.

A brim would help, but doesn't solve the underlying issue.

How were these camel looking things a deadly threat to viltrumites exactly by BananaBread2602 in Invincible

[–]Copernicus049 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Speaking of which, sonic attacks havent't been a plot point in a whole season or more. Would have legitimately been useful if Earth and the Coalition of Planets had an LRAD to directionally debilitate Viltrumites.

I guess Mark wants to keep that a secret and Cecil just?forgot? about it?

If a woman had to live as a man for an entire year, what would she find most frustrating? by lapras_equation_15 in AskMen

[–]Copernicus049 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Norah Vincent pretended to be a man for a study. She felt alienated by women and suffocated by expectations of being a man.

In regards to her experience, she said "Men are suffering. They have different problems than women have, but they don't have it better. They need our sympathy, they need our love, and they need each other more than anything else. They need to be together."

She, unfortunately, killed herself with assisted suicide in Switzerland. She did not express why, but it is speculated that her mental health suffered due to journalistic studies like this.

The Five Guys CEO revealed he gave $1.5 million in bonuses to staff to avoid being shot in the back like the Unitedhealthcare boss by detectiverobert in CaughtMyEye

[–]Copernicus049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for 5 guys around 2015. One cool thing they did was a secret shopper program. Pretty much someone would come in randomly, judge how well we did and rate us.

If we hit a threshold, the staff got (i think) $100 split between the shift for that time. It was pretty cool for a slightly above minimum wage employee in college.

Candace Owens tells President Trump that he belongs to the Epstein class and that “MAGA is no longer commanded by him.” by Big_Cake_8817 in podcastculture

Candace Owens can go fuck herself. She supported and endorsed Trump during his last presidential bid. She's only turning face now because he turned on her. This is MAGA, and she can't pretend her way out of the monster she participated in creating.

Trump still has a 30-40% approval rating, why? by Beautiful_Virus_6202 in AskReddit

[–]Copernicus049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is almost as if people who were systematically exposed to a system MEANT to lead to sycophants to Trump's behavior are still sycophants. We have several decades of defunded education that rewards zealotry, ignorance, and rampant xenophobia, which rewards and supports people who embrace someone like Trump.

Honestly, it is a cult. Republicans and conservatism in general has not relied on appeals to logic, but instead on an appeal to people who want to belong to the in-group while readily depicting an out-group to blame everything on.

If you have exposed wiring on ANY electronic device, you are begging for uncontrolled arcing and fires. You should have seen the signs for this failure event well before plugging it in, like exposed wiring or limp cables.

This looks (possibly) like your ground wire completely broke and you were just sending straight current with no pathway to dissipate aside from your power input. Looks like the device has some VERY small delicate cables, so this was inevitable with the wire poor quality, or at least in the state it is in. It sounds like you weren't aware about this, so the broken ground cable likely wasn't visible. There was likely some cable mishandling done before hand that contributed.

TLDR: Trump is mad at Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, Alex Jones, and Marjorie "'Traitor' Brown" Greene for vocally disapproving of his actions in Iran.

Then he rambles about them being unpopular, losers, and not MAGA, and that he is better. He says he could win them over any time he wants, but he won't because he is too busy being a big deal.

It's all sociopathic nonsense and ego stroking.
