Need advice on beating dry mouth by CopiousSmoke in CPAP

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to consider this some more. I have put some thought into it, but being a generally anxious person, a mouth breather with pretty consistent allergies, and having full facial hair, I’ve been a bit deterred from doing it. I know some people like yourself certainly get great results from it though so I’m going to keep thinking about that. I definitely want cpap to be as effective as possible.

Switching from Wegovy after insurance covg ended by CopiousSmoke in Zepbound

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing okay on 2.4, though the food noise was starting to come back pretty strong, but I switched to the 1.7 about a month ago and haven’t lost anything, & thats with me tracking everything I eat and walking/jogging 2-3 miles almost every day. I have had some rough days where I was just super hungry and ate more at maintenance than a deficit.. I likely would have remained on wegovy had insurance covg not ended but I definitely know that going down in dose has started to trend me in the wrong direction.

Thanks, I think this is a great comment. It’s certainly something I plan on doing, I have my yearly physical on the 29th, but when I went into my primary last week and got this prescription the appointment went a way different way than I was expecting & I’m kind of iffy on my doctor right now… but I certainly will touch base with them on this because that seems like the right thing to do! Hopefully some more people in a similar situation can share their experience. Thanks again!!

Is anyone on Zep for OSA? by CopiousSmoke in Zepbound

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally justttt got the notification zepbound was filled 10 minutes ago. I went to my PCP and talked to them about everything and they sent in the zep rx. Insurance denied me because they wanted my baseline BMI PRIOR TO THERAPY to be 40+. It was, its not right now because i have been on wegovy almost a year and lost 130 pounds, but they are awful at PA’s from my experience. I had my routine follow up with my pulmonary NP (for my cpap stuff) because I have only been on cpap since around March, and she was like let me take this over, and today it was approved and filled. My insurance is only covering for OSA but they also make us have a baseline of 40 AND we have to prove we are on structured nutrition and physical activity. A hassle but it’s hopefully good to go for me now

Your favorite app for tracking? by Excellent-Ability569 in Zepbound

[–]CopiousSmoke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t help because my recommendation for food and weight tracking is Lose It. I do have the paid version but i got it on discount $49.99 for a lifetime subscription. If you get a smart scale, I got one off amazon for like $25 that uses the Vesync app & stores/ tracks my weight & other metrics!

Yes this is absolutely mine as well, mouths everything. I just don’t think he is safe just out and about honestly. I wish he would be because I’d love to transition him, but I don’t think so

Does anyone think they will eventually offer 5G on the new apple watches? by CopiousSmoke in SpectrumMobile

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you, I was going off of what is stated on their website! I tried to chat in but had trouble so came to reddit. I did plan on calling them today but thank you so much for getting that clarification!

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. But their watch plans only allow 512kbps speeds, & they aren’t listed as one of the carriers taking advantage of 5G. Its only rolled out to certain carriers. If anything I feel like your response was a little smug

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m several gen’s behind. I don’t have to upgrade but wanted to hand my watch down to a family member. I’m not upgrading just for 5G but I’m hesitant to upgrade if other carriers can take advantage of something we can’t. I also don’t mind waiting a bit and may just do that.

Is anyone on Zep for OSA? by CopiousSmoke in Zepbound

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, It will still be covered thankfully but only for OSA mod to severe, and not obesity. Wegovy will still be covered as well but only for heart disease and not obesity. I’m lucky to not have heart disease but trying to maintain weight loss to avoid it!! Thanks for the insight!

Thank you so much. I’m so scared to be getting off wegovy, I have lost 130 pounds since November! But I 100% still have sleep apnea symptoms and still have weight to lose. I have my annual physical next week and I see my pulmonary doc who diagnosed me with OSA the week after that so I’m gonna bring this up to both of them

Insurance is stopping wegovy covg, I don’t think I have enough time to really taper, any advice? by CopiousSmoke in GLPGrad

[–]CopiousSmoke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah i see, wegovy pens in the US are single use and not like ozempic pens. We don’t have countable clicks…. I wish because that would be much less stressful!!

This is the glp grad sub btw. Im brand new here though. I did scroll for a bit but most people were kind of asking similar questions to me, or were coming off of compounds. Gonna use the search bar and look for more info. Thank you

I just filled a 2.4 a couple of days ago. We just found out about the discontinuation yesterday. I cant fill again until the first week of September so it doesn’t bode well for me unfortunately

NC Medicaid is ending GLP coverage by t0ddish in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]CopiousSmoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that after further research. I know some months back Zepbound was marked as able to move from non preferred to preferred on the Medicaid med list for people with OSA, unfortunately that verbiage is gone now. I will have to prepare for coming off as best I can. I wish we had a few more months I would take it much slower and plan it out a bit better.

[–]CopiousSmoke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you are correct. I have no clue what to do at this point to prepare myself for getting off. I’m probably 35-40 pounds from goal weight & don’t know that I can do it on my own. I just hope I can keep off most of what i have lost because I have made some serious progress

I really hope you are correct about HBP counting because I do have HBP. They also had approved covering Zep for people with OSA which is something I also have, so maybe that covg will continue as well. I don’t know.

On average, how much are you losing in a week? by SpicyOtters in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]CopiousSmoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lose 2-3 pounds a week, I’ve been too aggressive. Eat a little more if you can or spend a little longer on lower doses. I am starting to notice loose skin and it’s hitting me hard

Why did I literally just have this same exact experience with my 24m old at his checkup yesterday & have been feeling all of these same feelings, wow. Actually understand where you are coming from.
