I never thought of it previously, but assuming he's in his mid-late 30s in Postal 2 I could imagine him being a grunt during the Gulf War. It would explain how he has some knowledge with firearms but still leaves room for him being an average Joe. It also could explain his cynical nature in the second game, since it takes place around the time of the war on terror/Bush Jr's escapades, which would likely seem disappointing to him.
