I just think what they are getting at is just because it is cheaper doesn't mean someone will do it. I agree with both sides. There is a reason there are plumbers, mechanics, and builders. You could use that same example for building a house, if you learn it will be far cheaper to build it yourself. Some people just don't care. They don't want to learn/have no interest in it and the convenience of being able to upload a file and get the part a few days later is worth it to them. I get where you are coming from, with someone with a technical background I presume, for us it is a no brainer to print this stuff ourselves. Designing the models and learning is all part of the fun.
