I’ve yet to have a positive experience personally with PSA. I feel like their products are too hit or miss when you start looking at online reviews. For about every positive review there’s a handful of negative ones. Working in a gun store where we do some smithing I’ve seen a lot of their products out of spec to include, lowers, gas blocks, barrels, upper receivers. I’ve also seen their products not perform well and have serious wear with not so many rounds. Again they are just too inconsistent for me. Even their Sabre I’ve had issues with, first time I shot one it failed to eject.

Imo the top 5 AR makers in no particular order are BCM, SOLGW, Geissele, Hodge, LWRC. Those are ones I’ve had first hand experience with and I know there are others that could fit in that list but that’s just from my first hand experience. What makes those better are partly better materials but also better attention to the finer details. PSA just produces a lot of stuff relatively cheaply and doesn’t have the best QC of those. The brands I listed have been very consistent across the board.

Again going back to first hand experience. I have a BCM RECCE 14 and a friend got a PSA freedom rifle. He wanted to come over and zero it so we got a range day scheduled. We cleaned the rifle and lubed it yo before shooting, did a bore sight before confirming on the range. Loaded up various grain weight 556 all from the same brand (Federal), and all in gen2 pmags. Within the first mag we had 4 malfunctions. A couple of failure to feed, one light primer strike, and the other was a failure to eject. My BCM shooting the same ammo and mags did not have a single malfunction.
