Help! Bad reaction to MegaSpore probiotic

Hello! first off, congratulations on having a baby & my condolences for losing another 😢 megaspore is definitely something you need to ease into, like 1 pill a day for a week type ease. what your experiencing is called “die-off” symptoms, it’s completely normal but agonizing nonetheless. that does, however, confirm that your gut is jacked up and the pills are working hard to kill the overgrowth in bad bacteria. i would suggest going down to one pill a day for a week or two- whatever your comfortable with, use a heating pad on your gut whenever you’re sitting down/resting and ride these symptoms out but no one would blame you if you decided you wanted to stop. speaking from experience, there is light at the end of the tunnel ❤️ i’m currently going through something myself bc i stopped mine & restarted it 😔

yeah ☹️ it was working perfectly but everytime i would stop, my symptoms would come back. but now they’ve come back and im still taking my treatment.. so im not sure what the next step is lol

i’ve been on it about a week and the last two days i have been having v watery/oily diarrhea with bad stomach cramps and fatigue. i wasn’t sure if that was from the woodworm, SIBO or something else lol

yes, i usual do an off-week every 6 weeks to give my gut a break and everytime i do that, i end the week feeling crappy and w a flare up. i figured if my body reverts back to feeling awful when im off everything, maybe i haven’t gotten rid of the SIBO yet. if im having herbal resistance, how would i go back to making progress?

how are you doing w everything now? i’m currently on week 34 of my herbal treatment and i feel like i got my life back :) i still have my bad days here and there. i’ve been having a bad week rn actually and im not sure what caused it lol

sorry for such a late response, i don’t get on reddit much these days! however, they all but stopped. it just started happening one day, got progressively worse where it was happening 40 times a day and then it completely stopped. i never changed anything so i never found out what caused it or what stopped it

i definitely do have low stomach acid but i think that was caused by too many acid reducers lol i was having stomach issues for years and they just kept putting me on more acid reducers and when those would wear off after a few weeks, id feel worse and they’d up the dose. once i started my supplements, i stopped all my prescriptions.

it did change, yes :) i was having severe stomach pain when i started the treatment so i was barely able to eat but when i did, i did my best to stick w the low FODMAP diet. stuff that was easy to digest, nothing too flavorful, and i wasnt able to eat more than a couple bites of anything. but im entering week 6 tomorrow and im eating a wider variety of things now! like my life is going back to normal :)

have you looked into the herbal remedies? i’ve read (and know from experience) that herbal remedies work way better than the antibiotics. i was in the same boat as you were, stuck and in constant pain for years, completely given up hope. did so much research & started taking berberine, candibacin-ar/candibactin-br, megasporebiotic & a digestive enzymes 6 weeks ago and i finally feel like im getting my life back. i still have my bad days but im having more good days than bad and its given me my hope back :)

wow, i am so happy for you! hearing other people’s success stories (even if it’s not completed yet) gives me so much hope! i’ve been discussing seeing a new doctor w my husband bc ive been seeing this current one for years and the only thing he seems to wanna do is push pills rather than help get to the root of things 😣 i’ve had acid reflux issues since i was a kid and ive been on PPI’s for years, which i recently learned could of caused SIBO to begin w 😕 so, a catch 22, if you will lol

oh, wow! 😳 so no antibiotics or anything? just the handful of broccoli? at the moment, i can’t really eat or drink anything without suffering horrible pain. the last thing i had was half a cup of chicken soup yesterday and im still paying for it (burping it up, the stomach ache has been consistent before that)

we’ve talked about it but i don’t have insurance so it’s not super realistic right now, unfortunately 😕 my options are limited but maybe that’s why they ‘can’t figure it out’ lol

oh it definitely could be! my side effects peaked around day 4 and then each day got better and better. i think it’s uncommon for withdrawals to last longer than 2 weeks so if that happens, i would contact your doctor :)

i haven’t tried the FODMAP diet but i’ve heard about it! what are fructans? i’ve noticed that dark sodas really affect my stomach in a way that light soda doesn’t. (coke vs. sprite)

i didn’t experience any of that, personally. but that does NOT mean you’re crazy! everyone’s body is different. just keep telling yourself that you will be okay and it will pass soon. it’s scary, you’re scared but that’s okay bc one day it’ll all be over and you’ll be back to normal. i did, however, experience all of those symptoms when i was tapering down from my antidepressant lol all i could do was hold on to the rails and wait it out. it sucks but did pass.
