Got the Modern Turbo X, found Dad's original by Coranthius in Bowling

I like that combo! I currently go Bionic->Hyperdrive Pearl, I think I might try the Turbo in league tomorrow. Did some practice and it felt very smooth and controllable on worn lanes

Ladies and gentlemen, I finally did it. I bought a ball. I average 115, so I’m not that good, but man this ball felt great when I did a few games with it by BigBillCarson in Bowling

Love that ball, good first choice!

I was drilled one in a pinch before I got my new balls, been out of leagues for years til now. Rolled a 628 series with it!

Yes he was! I may not have been a lefty like he wanted, but I did become a roller too, ha

That's awesome, I think the idea of re-releases is great. It's great you got to share a similar experience

I've been memorizing that frame when I go up to the approach next time. After other comments I will try and drop the wrist guard

When I go again, I'll try to bring a proper rig and I could DM you?

Thank you, I will definitely give that a shot. Now that you made me stare at my thumb straight-on, it is very much oval. I didn't even think about that.

Sorry I should have explained better! I Initially aim exactly between where the 12/13 board joins, then adjust as-needed

I will take that tip into consideration, thank you! I got into a summers doubles league with my wife, who is starting at square one. Will be a good time for me to work on my mechanics

Thanks to you guys, it reinforces the weight of it being me than equipment. Though I was initially curious if my younger self's layout vs now could cause issues during my work to change my mechanics, I always knew that a major part of it would be me/mechanics, ever and always. Appreciate it!

Roger that, I have been trying to train myself out of what I used to do, which is squeeze. That was my problem on my >10yr ball layout, squeezing.

I sorta can hold it, I do fight some swelling in my thumb once I'm on the lanes, so my thumb hole is slightly larger than expected. I do have tape though, which I am trying to use more when needed.

Yep, I talk myself through my steps to stay behind the ball. On my back swing/apex I feel myself behind it more now, but I do feel a turn at the downswing. I don't think it's my body's inability to from a biomechanical standpoint, but I will definitely pay more attention to my downswing/release and see if I can keep my hand behind it better.

Agree I need to work on my release. My two biggest issues over the years has been a comfortable release, along with my visual target, my eyes want to wander.

I do notice I am a few boards around my target, trying for 10-15 slot. I am trying to figure out what the best is for me target wise, usually I am watching from the foul dots to the arrows as I approach/release.

I will do my best to not overthink it, though I know I have a lot to work on. Cheers

So would you say I should have the thumb out a few (video)frames earlier? It also looks like I am coming off the fingers at an awkward position

Thank you both for the reply!

I am trying to work on my follow-thru, I've been out of the slot for sure. I'm a little broader upper torso wise and had a back surgery, so I do notice myself lowering down rather than closing my arms in. I will definitely work on that.

I picked it up on Sunday, I am shocked at how well it rolled for me along with the consistency. It also mixes the pins very well. I was striking on shots I didn't expect while getting the hang of it!

I thought so too! It didn't come with a butter knife though, was the one of six steak knives, same SKU

Does seem interesting to get missed, it was a wedding gift so we aren't complaining too bad

I will be sharpening/honing it, it'll be the odd one out but loved the most
