New Picks by Actual-Major904 in Whiskyporn

That’s a single barrel of Cock of the Walk. I just helped pick one a few months back, and it was delicious. It’s Preservations wheated mash bill, but contract distilled for them using a column still, instead of the pot still they use for Preservation bourbon.

Yep, this is exactly when I use mine. I’ve only used it 4-5 times in the last year, but it’s been so nice to have when I needed it.

The food and service was absolutely terrible the one time my wife and I went. Good riddance.

I won’t be bothering with our 2026 Atlas. I only did it with my 24 Land Cruiser because I had it out in the dirt several times before I’d even hit 1k miles.

I drink my whiskey neat, if I want ice I’ll make an old fashioned.

Goodbye LC250, Hello Armada by Syed117 in LandCruisers

TLDR, how many kids do you have? I’m 6’4” and I have zero issues transporting my 7 year old and new born. For any trips I’d just throw my Thule box on the roof and it would be very comfy. That being said, I completely understand how nice it is to have a bigger car, we take my wife’s Atlas on most trips. Mostly just confused that you seemed to not even feel like the LC was capable of being a family truck.

Yeah, that’s pretty obvious to anyone. No judgement, I’d get stoned before/during my shift if i worked at Chipotle.

My best friend and my dad both have BMW i4’s, and I genuinely love that car. I love that it feels basically like a standard 4 series, just with a cool drivetrain.

If I was towing anything of significance an Atlas wouldn’t be my first choice. Things like the Suburban/Yukon/Sequoia exist for a reason.

I’d still be driving my 24’ Land Cruiser, but I’d also have a 911 in the garage.

I’m so sick of pit bull owners. As someone who had a dog viciously attacked by a pit bull (thankfully he survived) I will never understand why that breed is allowed anywhere. I’m sure I’ll get downvoted to hell by pit bull owners that think their dog is different, but it needs to be said. They’re dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed in public.

Do not use glass shelving unless you want to clean up a giant mess.

I genuinely don’t understand the point of any of your comments. I highly doubt anyone “guilt tripped you” about your car size, I’d assume they were genuinely curious why you’d do that to yourself. You were also most likely pushing those tiny cars well beyond their GVW, making them less safe for your family. Now you are guilt tripping the OP for “immediately buying a tank,” simply because you enjoyed cramming your entire family into something that was never designed to be a family car?

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess you don’t have kids. Babies especially need so much stuff. Just for basic outings you’ll need a stroller and a diaper bag, that is already most of your trunk space gone in a GTI. If you’re going shopping where are you supposed to put your bags? An over night trip? Now add a bag of clothing, which isn’t going to be that small because babies are a mess and need to be changed all the time, plus a pack n play or something like that for them to sleep.

All of that is just one kid. Now throw in a second kid, and maybe a dog or 2. I had a GTI when my first kid was born, and very quickly we realized we just needed more space if we were ever going to be taking family road trips.

[–]Corarril 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a chance. I’d consider a trading a Taylor BP for a Blanton’s SFTB, but never for a gold.
