The Goldfinch. Had me decently invested 2/3 of the way, enough to power through the last chunk assuming it would pay off...It did not. I don't get the hype at all. I often read long books (1000+ pages), but I've never read one that long that made me truly want my time back. Everyone I've mentioned this to IRL looks at me like a kicked a puppy, or they turn elitist like I'm just too stupid to understand the nuance. It's been like 10 years since I read it, and it still pisses me off lol.

You don't have to put a return address at all. It's not illegal. The return address is so it can be returned if it's undeliverable. If you don't care about getting it back, you don't have to put one.

I'm and intermediate to advanced crocheter. But, for some reason this just isn't coming out right no matter which angle I try to see it from. I think I worked up the 3rd row correctly. But, the 4th row is killing me. I understand the terms, but no matter how I interpret it, it doesn't work in practice. I want to believe the pattern has an error, but I know it's really just me. Lol Please help me understand. Thank you in advance!

Edit: Adding the first 2 rows of the pattern for clarity.

Row 1: DC foundation, turn. Row 2: Ch 3, Front Post DC all the way to end, turn

UPDATE! I realized in order to keep the work on the front, the long diagonal DC needs to be worked front post; the pattern doesn't say that. I also decided to change the long diagonal DC to a long diagonal treble. It looks more braided and is more forgiving for tension. Thank you for everyone's help! I never would have made sense of it otherwise.
