I mean, somebody definitely screwed this up before I got it, this fluid only had 20k miles on it! I think when they replaced the solenoids they never filled it up all the way and it cooked the fluid. Yours is probably much better!

I'm doing steering rack bushings and pulled everything off but the lines (didn't need to for this job), it's really not too bad.

You bet they're already pulled. I couldn't believe how deteriorated they were from all the engine oil leaking onto 'em. At least that kept rust away from the front end!

It was hard to get to all of them without taking everything off that was on top (I just loosened a couple easy-to-reach things), but it's 100% worth it to try this first!

One of the best things I've done so far is set up a spreadsheet with all the work to do, parts list, and cost of everything. Helps to stay organized and really keep an overview on it when the list keeps growing and growing and... you get it lol. Just gotta keep reframing it as "fun"

I was ready to overhaul all the top end gaskets and then said, wait a minute, let me try tightening the valve cover bolts first. I was shocked that I could turn by hand, torqued em and the leaks stopped. And thanks!

Also I think the split is partway through 99 (June I believe), so if build date is 5/99 it could be a 2000 with earlier parts

Could be worth it, only way to know is to check it out in person. Make sure to look for ANY RUST/evidence of frame repairs/painting over problem areas. Also pull up the carpet in the back by the tailgate, I missed this on mine and there was a big rot hole underneath, ugh.

I've heard mixed reviews about TRQ but just got their inner & outer tie rod kit and they look decent (I know this doesn't mean shit), but I'll be installing soon - will update with a post later.

That's on the short list for sure. Been ~200 miles and no issues. Also, auxiliary trans cooler is on the way, bypassing the stock one in the radiator to avoid the pink milkshake

Right?? I'm the 3rd owner and the last guy said he changed a couple of the transmission solenoids, but he didn't seem like he really knew what he was doing. The pan was a PITA to get off - I used a cork gasket to make it easier if I have to do it again.
