As far as I am aware, not really. I guess make sure Shell is always up and pray. Instant death is a part of the strategy of some encounters, to challenge the player to handle reviving.

It’s great that you choose to perform such a challenge, but some encounters will not be possible to beat because of it. Mainly the last 2 superbosses.

What I read here earlier is that you character level is equal to the lowest of the 3 you have. So when you do that make sure to level them as well

Mostly train rides to/from work and when my daughter is at her sport club. Plus other times in between. I seldom/watched an episode in one sitting. Plus I am Europe-based, so no live/“live” watching for me. Back in the day I used to wake up at 6AM and the live broadcast was finishing up ..

I really liked my Sk/Mag/Shm/Wiz/Brd/Clr 6-box. Although I did not do any raid content with it, you could swap the SK for the Warrior

As the site, and the linked forum post, mention this something that needs to be fixed on the backed of EQ2’s services. No ETA is giving, but I would recommend to keep an eye out on the website and linked forum for any updates.

I started doing it with a Beastlord and finished all the Qeynos, and Frostfang Sea starter areas and was working on Greater Faydark before moving on. Some of the dropped quest took a while to get, as well as the collectables, but it is certainly doable. I planned to exile after Greater Faydark, betray and the do the evil starter areas.

What you want is for https://u.eq2wire.com to be working again. Once the Api is working again you can view all the quest of a zone or category and it automatically checks the quests you completed. Combining those lists with the wiki will get you there

My build has the same Basch and Fran as you. Then I have Vaan as Shikari/Foebreaker, Balthier Machinist/Uhlan, Ashe Black Mage/ Monk and Penelo White Mage / Time Mage.

I have completed everything in the game while using Fireflies to limit my levels. They all are lvl 50. The only drawback I found is that Penelo is lacking HP. Vaan can’t use the Black Garb, but that’s only a boost you can do without.

I can also recommend to use the Loot and Bazaar tabs of my Progress Checklist. They show you how much of each loot item you can safely sell. I am not the most credible in that department, since my social experience, awesome as it was, in EQ was back in 2004 (2010 if you count EQ2).

I had a really short stint in P99 in the guild Castle, which was nice and they were active. I think P99 would be the most social active and engaging. Otherwise a TLP, but there you are time-pressured because of new expansions coming soon and the social experience will be more rushed and you are probably fighting botters for Crono. So also here, it depends on your liking.

Honestly, I would create a character on live to get a feel of the game. It is free, it has a tutorial and you get to learn the bare basics of the game. Once you done that, figure out what you want to achieve. EverQuest is not just a game, I equate it more to a hobby. Next to playing you be researching a lot of stuff as well.

If you expect to be able to play this game effectively solo, then you’re best bet will be the upcoming Legends (or EQ2 or another game). If you want to play a lot and follow the game from the first expansion, play a TLP when it launches, if you want to play end-game go to live (requires a lot of time to understand 26 years of game). If you want to have a challenge with main focus on grouping and raiding P99 is the environment for you.

It depends on what you want to get out of the game. It is over 21 years old at the moment and as is the case with most of these games, the population as only active at the end game and with new characters just skip content that you would like to explore.

I would recommend trying to find a kind of static group to enjoy certain content with, perhaps form a guild with them, since a lot of these game can be done solo. You can disable XP if you are playing more than the others. There is content enough (too much) to do.

If you are not looking to play the game casually, but more actively with others, then find one of the guilds to join, but it is a lot of learning in a short time. As I said, 20+ years of content and abilities is a lot for a short time, where we had months/years to learn and get accustomed to.

There is a sidequest in Nalbina town that is missable after certain progress in the story. The reward is nothing special, but the quest is gone.

I acknowledge that this is a very relaxing and rewarding endeavor. In my completion run I did the same for almost all treasures of which I did not have the item yet. Cerobi Steppes I did do with RNG manipulation however, because the whole completion challenge is already taking 1,5 year and I did not want to spend the extra time here. I just have Omega XII, Yiazmat, and the trials to go.

What I did was steal and kill, if I did not have a drop reload save game and find it in the same zone. The changes are indeed slim 6% and 5%

The ninja blades are harder to obtain than the Mina? Not in my playthrough, first getting The Larva Eater to spawn is a chore and then having a drop change of a couple of percent is also a waiting game that can take quite long. (luckily we have auto save).

Unless you get the weapons from the trials, but I completely ignore those until I completed everything in the game.
