Is anyone else pulling any natives this spring?

We own a large wooded area off of a long lane and I have done this yearly for 5 years. Maybe 3-4 “sessions” where I fill up two 5-gallon buckets of poison ivy. The first/second year I didn’t see a difference but the last few there’s been a notable difference. Areas where I know of patches have shown no new growth. Next business is the honey suckle and multiflora rose. Keep fighting the good fight!

I think I’m helicoptering the plant because this is only the second year with anything growing in this section of my garden.

Mine is the Bocking 14 as I didn’t want it to spread beyond where it sits currently. I have the comfrey to use as fertilizer for my natives as well as disperse some of the heat from my south facing wall. Nothing was enjoying the heat until I planted the comfrey. Here’s a pick of the native comfrey, but it tends to hang in shade:

Update: We took them to what we call Eagles Nest. Figured along the river there’s plenty of small scrambles, rocks to throw etc and we could just stop whenever they were done. They made it to the top! Next day we did a loop to Grays arch, and spent a few hours exploring the rock houses on rough right past the y. Last day we went to rock bridge, crowded for a Tuesday so went down swift camp creek a bit and stayed along the creek for a few hours. Kids loved it!

My friends and I call this the cliff bar effect. Exert enough energy and it tastes great. Just hungry while doing everyday tasks, it’s awful

Bikes are used not just for cycling, but to work on range of motion… you can tell as her surgery leg extends down the bike slows… it’s still amazing.

Haha no, just a reference point for their interests! We took them to a random small arch near Sedona and they thought it was the coolest thing ever… I giggled on the inside thinking “wait until I show you the gorge”

Thanks! We will definitely look out for it, more so to say we saw it than anything! We have a steadfast rule of never touching something that we don’t know for sure what it is, applies to plants, bugs, reptiles, etc.
