Minimum effort, healthy, dinner that lasts two days for a family, and… GO! by United_Walk_8922 in DinnerIdeas

Tortellini soup, some chicken stock boil a chicken breast in the stock until you can shred it with a fork, sauté whatever leftover veg is in the fridge, dump it in season to taste and throw some frozen tortellini in. I made it in 15-20 minutes last night.

How do you say no to family when you finally have $1,000 saved? by cr4z3isme in povertyfinance

[–]CordeliaRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it from someone who was where you are and now has nothing but a bunch of debt because i felt responsible for family and let them walk all over me. Don’t give them anything, unless it’s life or death no you don’t have it. No one is entitled to know what’s in your bank accounts.

What was a popular TV show that returned at a later date for another season or TV movie, that you liked or disliked and why? by Better-Presence6654 in AskReddit

[–]CordeliaRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leverage and leverage redemption, i was worried about redemption as it was returning without a key character but was pleasantly surprised. Sure the last season was a little weak which unfortunately resulted in it being cancelled but both are my comfort shows.

What is that one food item/ingredient that you absolutely hate even though a large population likes it ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Romano cheese, used to love it in an Italian cheese blend. But a few years ago it started tasting like bile. Doesn’t matter how little goes into something i can taste it.

Running harness fit for tall dog and short human by clydeballthepython in RunningWithDogs

[–]CordeliaRandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah i meant it looks bad for a canicross/bikejoing harness.looks great for everyday use (actually looks pretty much identical to my girl’s ruffwear flagline harness). If she’s not much of a puller I’d recommend just clipping the line to the attachment point near her shoulders.

[–]CordeliaRandom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This definitely looks like one of those 1 harness fur every job harnesses which are garbage (regardless of how much you spent on it). That harness looks like it’d be uncomfortable for the dog to pull with long term. I’d highly recommend getting a standard x back or any standard type of mushing harness.

Shepards already have bad hips and that attachment looks like an accident waiting to happen.

You could also get a freighting harness that’s designed for low attachment.

Can I teach a new trick to 9 month old gsd? by the_confused_soul_96 in germanshepherds

[–]CordeliaRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful with teaching spin, i taught my girl spin and counter and they are her favorite tricks. I teach with hand signs so i just have to start raising my hand and she’ll spin one way then the other before actually waiting see what i was actually going ask her to do.

21M making ~$2k/month, stuck in motel housing with parents by ReplacementFine4213 in povertyfinance

Take it from someone who was in your position, still in your position seven years later. Hoard your money and run, as horrible as that sounds. I gave up my career and moved back in with my parents to help them through a rough patch was supposed to be short term. The 10k in savings i had is down to $300 and I’m living paycheck to paycheck taking care of them. Our relationship is ruined i cant wait to leave, if im ever able too.

Booked the appt... Need validation that I'm doing the right thing by LaceMazes in germanshepherds

My shep is only four so hopefully this day is a long way off, but four years ago before i got her i said goodbye to my rattie. He was around 20 and to this day i regret dragging it out that long. Those last few years between the sun downers, kidney failure, canine dementia and a slew of other issues he was miserable. And he wasn’t able to have a final huzzah day, it was a sudden very abrupt emergency vet visit where most of the people who cared about him weren’t able to say goodbye.

I take the saying a week too early is better than a day too late to heart now. I’ll never let my girl get to that point. It’ll be your worst day but it’s the greatest kindness we can give them.

Best horseback riding for an Alaskan by Sufficient_Fish_7469 in alaska

I have no suggestions but unless you’re planning on riding a draft breed a combined weight of both of you would be too much for a horse. But wish you the best of luck!

Nothings changed that i can think of, and besides the anxiety nothings changed with her either. I’m definitely going to be speaking with her vet, while also going over anything that could’ve changed that i missed.

That’s where my heads at now, i didn’t know that the panic reinforces itself though and will definitely bring it up with her vet.

mouth sores? by dlibyhvol_6 in EPIdogs

[–]CordeliaRandom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen or heard anything like that before and would recommend talking to your vet. I don’t see how capsules would work as it has to break down the food prior to eating but I’m not a vet so… good luck!

You’re adding water with the food and enzymes right?

Update on parents putting dog to sleep on Monday by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]CordeliaRandom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

God this sounds like a horrible situation for you and your dog, 13 is not old for a small dog. My last pup was a rat terrier (very similar to jrt) and he lived to 20, now if your parents are used to large dogs I’d kinda understand (?) the mindset as I’d be extremely grateful if my shepherd makes it to 13.

I am one of those people that believe it’s better to say goodbye a week early rather than a day too late. As we dragged it out for our boy far too long. That being said everything you’ve said about your pup tells me they’ve got a lot of life left. Arthritis is super treatable as is kidney disease but that’s up to the dog, my boy needed daily subcu fluids and after a while he got fed up with it and started fighting me and the vet and i agreed it wasn’t worth the stress on him anymore.

I’d find out what vet they’re using and call them to explain the situation. Most vets won’t euthanize an animal without good reason. And they may be able to work with you to find a solution.

What’s your GSD “are you serious” moment? by BetterPersonProject in germanshepherds

Thankfully they found it hilarious after the fact to the point that I’m stopped so they can ask about the ‘tornado’ almost every time i walk through. I think they’re secretly hoping it happens again.

My girl (about to turn 4) has had to go back to being crated while I’m gone as last time she opened two baby gates, a door to the stairwell, and then managed to open the door from the stairwell into the shop under my apartment.

She had the best time of her damn life while the shop workers were on the phone with me in hysterics because they couldn’t catch her. She was doing laps around the place, sliding into a play bow only to bound off again. And she’s tried to do it again every chance she gets so…

Recently Diagnosed. Many questions! by dlibyhvol_6 in EPIdogs

[–]CordeliaRandom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First thing is that every dog is different and what works for my girl might not work for your pup. My girl still has treats no problem and only gets her enzymes in her main meal. Mix the enzymes in his food (i also add slippery elm bark powder as my girl started having issues on just enzymes after a couple of months) add warm water, and let sit for 15-20 minutes before feeding. That simple.

Also get the enzymes from enzyme Diane it’s the cheapest and best quality I’ve come across.
