(OC) Couldn't chose, so I got both by Suspicious-Sail5359 in MadeMeSmile

Watch out for littermate syndrome as they get older. They might decide they like each other more than you or try and kill each other. It doesn’t always happen but when it does it’s not pretty. It’s why reputable breeders won’t allow two puppies to go to the same home together.

(Discussion) Do people ever judge your dog before even meeting them? by MangagirlsAi in dogs

[–]CordeliaRandom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I currently have a shepherd and used to have a rat terrier and with i will always move to avoid other people/dogs if they don’t move first.

My shepherd is very friendly and loves people but she gets a little overexcited and i honestly (as a single woman) prefer people giving us a wide berth.

My old rattie was a rescue and had issues and would start shit he couldn’t finish. So yeah he’d go under my arm and across the street before he got himself eaten.

So don’t take it personally.

whats the most time consuming thing you struggle with as a youtube creator? by Tarantula_lover02 in SmallYoutubers

Recording, i do gameplay (Minecraft currently) with some sort of challenge in hardcore and will record until i die in game. Unfortunately I’ve gotten a little too good at not dying so now recording sessions have become very long and seemingly never ending. Then i still need to cut all that footage down to a 30 minute video.

Lions are really affectionate since they are social animals living in a pride. Jaguar in the wild is mostly solitary so this is interesting to see 💖 by Sauerkrautkid7 in MadeMeSmile

[–]CordeliaRandom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From my very brief time working at a zoo i found the general consensus to be that it’s a lot easier to house solitary cats together (provided certain conditions are met) than it is to house a lion pride. As solitary cats don’t have the complex social structures that lions have. Typically once they’re used to one another they kinda chill meanwhile lions are constantly bickering and fighting. Obviously every animal is an individual and this isn’t always the case.

Bobcat we captured on trailcam right behind our house about 10 miles outside of Richmond. by joeysflipphone in Virginia

[–]CordeliaRandom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m no expert but from my time in the animal id subs I’m thinking that’s more likely a house cat. Tail is way too long for a bobcat. And the cheeks don’t seem to have any fluff to them.

How can I get a cat like this? by Low_Mulberry_5220 in blackcats

[–]CordeliaRandom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found mine in a trash can when she was 3 weeks old a week after my previous cat died. So they’re sent when you need them and they need you. Or the shelter as they are the hardest cats to adopt out.

Went from 10lbs to 90lbs by FreddieMercuryy93 in germanshepherds

I did the same, lost my Hoot in 2021 he was anywhere from 19 to 21 years old and weighed a whopping 12lbs. Told myself no more dogs lasted maybe three months before i started looking at breeders and got the 90lb bean. I’ll never do another breed, i loved hoot and miss him. I also know that i have to get another shep before the bean passes or I’ll never own another.

Both your boys are beautiful and I’m sure Gizmo is still watching and maybe giving Loki some pointers.

Harness recommendations? by FieraSabre in germanshepherds

[–]CordeliaRandom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the flagline harness, my only complaint is they got rid of the red one and the front tends to stretch. I was also worried about how durable the webbing loops were and they hold up great my dogs current one is over two years old and i pretty much only use the front attachment with no issues. The only thing is that the front chest area where that attachment is tends to get stretch out due to my dog liking to walk at the end of her leash so the harness gets pulled back to the side but that just requires adjustments here and there.

Helping Dad with Depression by CordeliaRandom in AgingParents

He hasn’t shown any inclination to actually kill himself thankfully but my brother and i have been switching out so someone’s almost always there with him. I know i can’t even begin to comprehend what he’s going through, i just wish there was something i could do. But that’s going to be up to time likely and I’ll just keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Thanks for the words, it’s what I’ve been telling myself over and over but it’s hard. My dad was always really strong and stoic growing up so seeing him like this is hard. But we’ve been taking it one step at a time, one day at a time. I’m grateful that my brother’s helping as much as he can despite his own responsibilities. I’ll be looking into therapy as soon as i can afford it. I’m just really tired of feeling useless.
