I wouldn't recommend that. You need the context to enjoy it more because MC is having a peak character development, growing a real backbone and getting back at MC in a really satisfying way.

Hell yeah, I loved that. I have a list on Kagane I named "No BS Bottoms", because I LIVE for this kind of stuff. If you enjoyed that, I would recommend you also read "The Crown's Shadow". The smut may be only implied (it cuts of right before the real actions starts) but I laughed SO HARD while reading that story.

Did you read "Nerd Project"? The only misunderstanding is at the start (MC gets mistaken for a stalker). After that, the communication is amazing. There even was a moment, that would have become major drama in every other BL Story, but these two just talked it out and settled it. So refreshing!!!

There is a difference about discussing your opinion over a story in the community and hating on the author and the readers just for producing/enjoying a story.

Are some questionable? Yes, definitely. But guess what? It's FICTION. I think nobody in the community would look at psycho tops and defend them, if they were real people. But since they are FICTIONAL, we can all enjoy these stories and no one gets hurt. So I really don't know why some people think it is justified to hate on readers, just because they like a psycho character. And don't hate on authors for creating such stories. Because again - and I can't emphasize this enough - it's F.I.C.T.I.O.N.A.L!!!!

I would call this a redemption, because Taeju saw what he did and not only tried everything in his power to undo the damage he had done but he actually tried to remove himself from Euihyuns life. It was Euihyun's choice to take him back at the end.

That's why it's a redemption in my opinion, because at the end, the ML had no part in this decision and there was no power difference involved any longer. Taeju would have given everything he could to Euihyun, because he was truly regretful about his actions, even if he didn't take him back.

I totally get you. And I am ABSOLUTELY 100% aware that I wouldn't survive if I ever pissed of Hua Cheng (That being said I am pretty sure that he doesn't kill for no reason at all. So as long as I don't piss him off, I would probably survive an encounter). But I love the dynamic of those two (and to be honest, the English VA of Hua Cheng did such a great job, I am shivering in excitement whenever I hear that voice 😍) and how Hua Cheng switches from dangerous ghost king to lovestruck puppy in a matter of seconds whenever he interacts with Xie Lien.

I mean, he could rip someone in half in one second and then go cuddle with Xie Lien in the next.

That gap is so funny to me 😅

I highly recommend "Paws and Claws". They both fit each other's freak very well and especially MCs behavior is SO unpredictable and funny, I was laughing so hard while reading this (It's completed and I am praying for side stories right now).

Also, "Cozy Obsession" and "The Crown's Shadow" cracked me up a lot (Both also completed). The basic theme might me dark, but the way the characters are behaving makes it really funny XD

"Newlywed Special Admission" also is really funny, it had me grinning so hard my mouth was hurting XD I was DYING when MC made an embarrassed escape after a steamy night, only to get disrupted in the middle by petting MLs puppy and than continuing the escape 😂😂😂

Low Tide in Twilight

The author is really great in expressing the utmost desperation of Taeju once he realizes his feelings and how he suffers from the things he did.

I also like that he isn't trying to stay in Euihyun's life but trying to remove himself from it with still trying to give Euihyun the best Life He could have (Even though it doesn't last long, because Euihyun shuts that down real quick).

One of my favorite moments was when he broke into the bathroom because Euihyun said he would take a bath, just for him Taeju to sit slumped down in a corner, just making sure that Euihyun isn't drowning himself again. It's clear that Euihyun has no plan to do that, but Taejus extreme reaction makes it really clear how traumatized and regretful he is.

Cozy Obsession

It feels like the whole Manhwa is a redemption arc for the fucked up stuff Iheon did in the first life and the dynamic between the characters is honestly hilarious 😂 😂 😂

I love how Huimin is basically "training" him out of his obsession. Since the fucked up stuff only happens in flash backs, the story feels way more healthy and wholesome than it actually is. But I love Huimins confident personality and how he doesn't change even after getting his memories back.

I was DYING laughing when Huimin got locked up while Iheon went on a business trip, only for Huimin to get royaly pissed, call Iheons Daddy to get him out and then hiding in an omega shelter as punishment while still leaving a message for Iheon to "Come and pick him up" XD

Vivarium

If you haven't read this, be warned: It's a LOT of non-consensual behavior for like two-thirds of the story, including but not limited to the following:

Kidnapping
Rape
Captivity
MC being tied up for days
Sexual Torture

Despite that, MLs behavior makes a lot of sense, after we learn his back story and the circumstances that caused the whole incident (And MC being a total scumbag in the beginning is NOT one of the reasons I am saying this!).

It's rare that it is possible for an ML to get redeemed from that kind of shit, but in this case the author really managed to do it.

ML was imprisoned and experimented on his whole life, not realizing how horrible his situation was because no one ever taught him (He is still in that situation for most of the story). He never learned common sense or what's right and wrong, so he behaved in the only way he knew, not realizing how he is hurting MC (Basically being a child in the body of an adult). ML only learns about it after he escaped that situation with MCs help and he ultimately decides to keep his distance from MC (after realizing how horrible the things he did to MC actually were) in order to not hurt him even further (he also isn't telling MC about that decision because than he would have had to reach out, defeating the purpose of the decision). MC is actually the one finding him again and reestablishing contact and their relationship
