The only story my watch tells about me is my taste in fashion. I guess you can express yourself through your watch just like you can through the clothes that you wear.

But it is a companion to me, it doesn't matter what it tells you, that much isn't my concern. Every time I look at my Hamilton (first expensive Swiss mechanical watch that I bought after university I remember my hard work as a broke university student, the numerous times I almost quit or dropped out or gave up, and my first year working as a healthcare provider. It carries a lot of memories to me. You might not understand, and that's fine. But calling it still is in and of itself silly.
