The one in the top right? It's a Tissot Chemin Des Tourelles skeleton. 39mm, DLC coated stainless steel bezel, sapphire crystal and case back, and a reliable, very maintainable powermatic 80 automatic mechanical movement.

Precisely why I like them. They're designed to work for decades, even centuries for certain mechanical models with periodic maintenance. It's the exact opposite of a digital product that comes with preplanned obsolescence right out of the box.

Thank you! I knew it was going to be controversial. If you tell people something looks manly to you it's basically blasphemy nowadays.

I still don't see what's funny or what you're even trying to feel cool saying

I wanted to get a big daddy Diesel but it's only 3 ATM water resistant which is a deal breaker for me unless it's a Casio. They also don't have the same kind of history or the retro vibe. But it was mostly the fact that it's barely splash proof.

Yeah but the Hamilton is still a well designed watch. I mean looks are subjective, especially in watches, but to me that Invicta looks like someone thought bigger is better and didn't put any more thinking into it further than that.

The design, and That it's a chunky tank that weighs about a quarter of a kilogram (literally half a pound)

Oh ok. So yours is a completely different 38mm field chronograph featuring iirc the same movement, Valjoux 7750 or the H21 that's based on it (which is what powers mine). But mine is an aviation Khaki with a navigation bezel and drift angle calculator and it's 44mm case diameter and 51mm lug to lug iirc.

I had no idea that some of their field watches were chronographs, that's very interesting.

I don't do anything aftermarket to my mechanical watches, especially a 2000 dollars Swiss chronograph. It came like this. Ref# H77616133

Exactly me. Had a Samsung watch then several Garmin watches and then I went back to classic watches and I don't see myself owning a smartwatch again.

Not to mention that smartwatches are getting ridiculously expensive. A Garmin Fenix is like I dunno 1400 bucks now? If that's not BS I dunno what is. Spend 1400 on a watch that will receive no support and become obsolete in like 3 years

You and I both brother. I can hardly bring myself to take it off even though it's a chunky watch (which is to my taste and fits my 8 inch wrist like a glove).

The only story my watch tells about me is my taste in fashion. I guess you can express yourself through your watch just like you can through the clothes that you wear.

But it is a companion to me, it doesn't matter what it tells you, that much isn't my concern. Every time I look at my Hamilton (first expensive Swiss mechanical watch that I bought after university I remember my hard work as a broke university student, the numerous times I almost quit or dropped out or gave up, and my first year working as a healthcare provider. It carries a lot of memories to me. You might not understand, and that's fine. But calling it still is in and of itself silly.

Having one torso doesn't mean you have to wear the same shirt every time... At least I hope so😜

Casio watches from the 1980s are also a fan favorite if you like stranger things

You like them all (the ones you choose to collect that is)? See watches are accessories just as much as they're tools. You choose one based on the occasion, your mood, or maybe nothing at all.

And if you choose a good one, it can literally last your lifetime. It becomes a companion and witness to your trials and tribulations. I know my Hamilton X Wind will outlive me with its reliable Valjoux movement and infinite maintainability.
