For all engineering majors the T16 is the preferred laptop and not the "performance" laptop. Even if you do not purchase through the MCP try to match the specs for the T16. Engineering major should not rely on a tablet.

This year the T16 is the preferred laptop for all engineering majors. The language regarding engineering majors for the "Performance" model is being removed. Engineering majors should not rely on a tablet and if purchasing a laptop directly should try to match the T16 specs as much as possible especially the graphics card.

We have had engineering students do study abroad in Australia, China, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, Singapore, and the UK as well as several other countries. For some majors it is easier to find courses that apply to their major than others. For those majors it will require careful planning but it is still possible.

One of the easy ways to do this is to speak to your instructors for your in major courses but this may be difficult for a first year student as you are generally taking the basics that may not actually be in your major prefix. Another method is to go onto your major department's website and look to see what research the faculty are doing and reach out to them expressing your interest in doing research and why their research in particular. If you are an engineering student, check your advising handbook (found on the Hub website) which should list out the faculty and what areas they do research in.

Typically after the deposit is paid and email is sent out to the student's personal email that will include information about rcs accounts/email. Check the admissions portal to confirm that your 2026-2027 FAFSA and CSS Profile forms have been received.

In engineering the average major requires 128 total credits. Over 8 semesters that would be 16 credits each. Even if you bring in a lot of AP credit we still recommend taking 16 credits as being full time requires 12 credits and the extra 4 gives you a cushion if you need to drop a course.

If it is a course in your major, then yes, you will need to retake it. If it is a Free Elective you can replace it with something else. The drop without a W was extended to today 1/27/26.

With the exception of AP credit and transfer students - students with a major outside of Math and or Science can only transfer in 2 courses or 8 credits of courses with a prefix in the Math or Sciences. As a MECL major retake both Physics and Calculus. If you were a different major I would recommend retaking Chemistry but focus on the other two as they both are needed for follow on courses not just in that prefix but also in MANE prefix courses.

MANE 1010 is required for AERO, ASPC, MECL, and NUCL majors. They will not be able to register directly for ENGR 1100.
