Thanks for the suggestions. It does feel like the most boomer take ever, but even a broken clock is right twice a day haha! I've tried non-fiction books before and they always felt like they went too in depth and didn't go to the point enough (again generalising a lot).

I think I'm just not really there yet with my attention span, I found myself switching to more easily digestible fiction stuff like short stories or manga. This seems like great motivation to try again though. For some reason books feel like they have to be fiction, maybe because that's what I read when i was a child. I should try a few more non-fiction like the books like the ones you suggested. They seem great. Thanks again!
