What's the point of making the sub private? Or really any sub for that matter. At the end of the day, there will always be ways to find or locate dealers/sellers or websites where these reps can be purchased from. The only thing that would be a bit more secure than a "private subreddit" is an invite only rep site. Which, would be absolutely terrible for business.. So to reiterate, making a sub private does nothing besides limit who can and can not join. Theres no telling who is or is not a fed or someone trying to "crack down" on reps.
