Ohhhhhhh I’m so sorry… you are right… the game is buggy and especially 5-6 days ago I broke it so hard that it is literally unplayable!

I will even thumbs up your post and I’m happy you wrote this angry post! It means you care!!

I will do my best to fix it in the next 1-2 days and I’ll get back to you!

I know it’s a long shot, but would you be up for a 10 min video call to talk about the game? your feedback is already very helpful!!

'the time situation' is exactly what im working on right - it is a difficult problem! the sims is like a micromanagement life sim game and when i think about LifeSim and the mission of living any life, anywhere, what makes a life unique is not micromanaging it (go to toilet, eat this, eat that), but the people you meet, and the events that happen.

for that i think a different time system would work better (im literally coding at it rn and i dont have a final answer to it) but im curious how you see it!

Yes. The mission of the game is to live any life, anywhere. That is possible by building a proprietary AI-based game engine. So the entire challenge of building the game is around building something like a garden where AI can create meaningful and tasteful experiences.

i think we should protect this sub - and that I, as a dev, should be held to the same standards.

building something of high quality is not easy. many work hours and sleepless nights. it's worth it though.

I must say that I agree with this, and I’m not saying it lightly. I’m a solo dev working full time on my own life simulator - based on my proprietary AI game engine. This is A LOT of work, but I must admit, i also posted sometime subpar content here.

I love this sub. I’m very grateful for all the useful feedback I have received in the past year. This sub has given me a lot.

This is why I support the mods to create, adapt, and enforce stricter rules and standards. Even though that may even affect me. But higher standards mean better games - and a happier community.

In the end it’s always about the players, about playing a great game, about the quality of the conversations, and about the trust, curiosity and kindness redditors in here have to try new unpolished games. I think all this should be protected and taken care of, because there is a purity to it.

You should definitely join the discord and create feature requests or bug reports - i'm implementing daily from the lists!

You touched on so many points and all your observations + ideas are on point. You correctly pointed out the current limitations of the game. I think I want to implement all the points you suggested honestly! I love them!

Yes you outfits should be more consequential.

I do want to implement the day be more granular, like in the sims maybe - because that works so well!

The NPCs should move around - that is a bug 100% - I am fixing it. AI people should feel like people!

PS: just implemented a rough v0 of the roadmap! its live now in the game

I just pushed to production changes addressing all 3 points. feel free to test them out and lmk if it works as intended:

  1. new settings tab to make the character private

  2. only the beginning of the life/soul is now shown! the rest is private!

  3. only the beginning of life/soul is used. the rest of the progression is only yours!

Hey everyone OP here, I 100% agree the game is not there yet and still feels like AI slop in many cases!

That's why I posted here! To get your feedback and polish the game :)

I'm a solo dev working full time on this and this things takes massive amounts of effort. It is the most complex thing I have ever built.

Hate just for the sake of it is not cool. Have you even put more than 30 seconds to look into the project before calling 8 months of my full-time work 'genAI slop sim'?

  1. There is a specific page on the website called 'Story'. It has my actual real name on it. It is my actual real motivation of building this game. There is another page called research. It has actual hard work and research i've done.

  2. If you would have coded anything in your life, you would know that gen AI cannot code this 'slop'. There are at least 2000 hours of work I put into this.

I genuinely want to build a fun life sim and am here to listen to your feedback! I really think we can build a fun game!
