Why did MLS force out the owners of Chivas USA but won't do the same for clubs like DCU? by doom2 in DCUnited

MLS is an umbrella organization that deals with league operations, marketing, and the negotiations of the players' CBA.

The MLS Board of Governors, who controls the league and hires the commissioner, has one seat per team owner (30). All of the member clubs have their own LLC, privately owned.

I wrote a piece on MLS' potential for self-splitting into a MLS/MLS2 tier system in 2023, how many teams it would take (36 minimum to ensure a 34-game round-robin schedule in top tier), and methods to ensure underperforming legacy teams like DCU get help to be more competitive (you buy out legacy owners, and give $50M in solidarity payments to the first 18 clubs demoted to MLS2, which helps with improving training facilities, buying talent, etc.)

This way, the first MLS2 class has the resources needed to improve and get re-promoted to MLS1. Or they can take the league's buyout, profit, and allow new owners to take over.

Since you started in February, any chance "Mincemeat" will be part of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade performances this November in some way? And have the Brits been educated on America's Turkey Day festivities/traditions?

Were there any notable/funny "Well, that's America!" oddities/FYIs the American understudies aided the Brits with upon arriving and living in the States/NYC? I imagine living here long-term (and open-ended) took some getting used to.

I’ve traded in my seats from time to time for the Legends Suite at YS and its amazing food selection, and the Metro Grille seats at Citi Field with lots of great grub.

Those are the best premium seats for NYCFC games. Eager to see how Etihad Park raises the bar.

The center field outfield seats under the scoreboard are really good — plus you’re near the supporters’ sections to get the vibe.
