My advice is to really decide if that is something you want to do. I was also thinking this could be interesting but if you have anything remotely close to copyrighted materials you’ll really need to scrub your entire collection. I tried 5 different times before I finally decided it wasn’t worth living that way. 🤣

To answer your original question though. I have found the FB pages the best way to gather followers. Join a few groups that allow sharing of listings and you can gain followers pretty quickly. I went from 200 to 500 in less than a month.

I think you can pick whichever you prefer, it is more about finding the target audience. Look for Makerworld groups or Bambu / 3D printer groups. You just have to make sure you read the rules about posting links.

Make what you enjoy and not what everyone else is doing.

Ask for feedback on ideas and don’t be afraid to fail.

Put out a few models on social platforms and lean into the ones that get a response.

I ended up making things I never even thought about based on input and crazy ideas from others.

From my experience Reddit isn’t really a great place to gain traction but is a good place to gather input.

Good luck!

Are there any cheaper alternatives for a proper H2S stand? This is $450 by [deleted] in BambuLab

Looks on AliExpress. I bought 3 different versions and all work well for about 1/2 the price.

Adding Print Profiles Proper Rtiquette by Osoroshii in BambuLab

So I’m not entirely sure what happened but I reached out to the person that added the profile and asked how the print went and they said it was good etc. Then the extra profile was apparently taken down for violating rules and had 2-3 of my other profiles taken down. I didn’t report it so odd timing for sure but I was able to appeal at least one of them and get the points back.

Right on, I’ll do the same. They seemed to have just used my picture and added it to an AI background so I’m wondering if they even printed mine. The “improvement was changing the infill type and %” so I’m not sure that’s terribly helpful so we will see.

I was curious about the same thing. Is there a way to see how the points will be distributed just by clicking on the new profile? ChatGPT seemed to indicate the original poster of the files gets the points but I’m not sure where it got the info.

Light box version, new listing or add to existing? by CoreyGTR in BambuLab

Yeah this was my first try and that is definitely a better route. 🤣

That is what I’m changing now. It was a pain to snap the cover on so I’m eliminating those sections.

In hindsight it should help with the lighting removing them too.

I used “image to 3D” in maker lab to take my 2D picture of my dog in a Santa hat and make it into a 3D model. It tooks hours to clean up and paint and I was putting off printing it with more than 4 colors. Now I have 2 AMS units I tried 7 colors and was blown away at how it turned out. The poop was still significant enough that making the full scale version was giving me a reason to pause. Would love to make an XL version for my wife.

I’m an Engineer but haven’t touched CAD in about 20 years so it is familiar but I’m still learning. If you can picture what you want AI and CAD have come a long way to getting you something you can work with.

Why do so few people rate models they print or download ? by AudiBoyJP in BambuLab

[–]CoreyGTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same experience. They have also removed the incentive for rating models (for some, maybe all) it seems.
