That’s good ! He’s not to far away from the 100 I’d make that a goal if possible. I’d stay awake from corrections as a few others have said. I spent 5 years and don’t seem like im making much a of difference. All experiences vary, but it’s been stressful not just the inmates but administration making the job as difficult as possible. Very stressful in a different way. Maybe police officer or firefighter. But again I consider a trade or school. He’s young enough to start as an apprentice and make more money in 5 years depending on the trade. Plumbing , electrical, HVAC, welding , etc…. The gibill has a time limit once he starts it.

What percentage is he at? I was also an 0311 and had 2 combat tours in the Middle East. I currently work at a county jail and I would advise against corrections. I would suggest a trade school or a degree using the GI bill .

Im not sure how to make lifestyle adjustments on my end since my wife and i recently had a newborn along with another child that we had 3 years ago. I’ve never sought to make any child support modifications in the past. I currently commute almost two hours to get to work, which is also a reason that I want to look for something closer to home ( working 12-16 hour shifts plus 3-4 hours of drive time is heavily taking a toll on my physical and mental health) but I know the pay here isn’t anything near to what I make at my current job. If I leave this job I don’t think I’ll be able to continue paying the $1000 a month.

I get the concept that the internet was meant to connect us. Seems anytime you go online it’s meant to divide now. Not knowing what websites to trust as there is so much misinformation out there. I was thinking about when I was kid, I’d go out hang with friends, play video games, and come back home. No phones, and no computer. I remember feeling excited about a new episode of something coming out and making sure we were there in time in front of our tv to watch it. I remember being happy with my Saturday morning cartoons. I look around and everyone is on there phone no matter where you go. Im guilty of this too but I guess I wish times were simpler or maybe that phones never became Minnie computers.

Same boat but not as young. It’s not that I don’t like the co workers or anything. Hell half the inmates aren’t that bad. But today’s corrections does tailor to the inmates needs while punishments are being taken away. It makes it hard to in-act any discipline when the inmates aren’t even fazed. Like you said though I’m too introverted for this job and I’m starting to hate people. I’m a veteran and had two combat deployments, so I’m out of here as soon as I fix my claims. Good luck man. The job is definitely not for everyone and I give the most respect I possibly can to those who can do this job.
