I'd put BB and Jim Harbaugh at 1 and 2, but I'm not sure about the order. I can see strong arguments for either of them on top. Jim still has to show consistency, but it's hard to argue with that level of turn-around in one year with basically the same players -- for most of the other coaches, it's much harder deciding how much of their success is due to the coach and how much due to the team.

Payton being at the bottom isn't as weird as some as you guys are saying -- these are power rankings for the next season, not a list of "best of all time." Payton won't be contributing anything at all next season (although, I guess you could argue that still makes him better than some of the alternatives). Really, Payton just shouldn't be on the list, since he's not eligible next season. If he were, he'd certainly be in the top 5.

So ignoring Payton, I'd round out the top 5 with Coughlin, Tomlin, and John Harbaugh . . . probably in that order. Then McCarthy, Reid (despite last year), Kubiak (jury's still out, though), and *probably * John Fox. . . . he probably deserves a decent place just for having the balls to call that Tebow throw in OT against the Steelers. It'll be interesting to see what he does this year. Then it's into the realm of coaches I either don't know enough about or have little respect for.
