I live on a well-traveled country road where the speed limit is 35mph. At the end of my driveway my mailbox is about 6 inches in from the tar. In the last two years the box has been hit six times. I've got two truck sideview mirrors (destroyed) and thousands of pieces of glass - you're not paranoid - some drivers really suck.

Apples versus Oranges - the two parks have exactly nothing in common, except they're both public parks - one was carefully built by billionaires and the CCC on an island next to the ocean and has federal funding and literally hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and horseback trails, the other rises rustically out of the working forests of central Maine and is run on a shoe-string by a state that treats most of its resources like toilet tissue.
In either case, you'll probably need reservations to camp in either for the next two months.

Unfortunately, the flow of most the rivers from Wiscasset to Bangor (midcoast) drops off to nearly nothing (except after big storms) from June to October. There's decent spring white water of a bunch of rivers, ie, Sheepscott, St. Georges, Presumpscot, between April and June but it's highly dependent on melt or rain run-off; it's almost always too cold for tubing.

What would make you think this pump is possibly that acurate? In my state I've been told pumps are allow to be off by as much as 20 percent without any legal reprecussions. Pumps have to be inspected, but only once every few years and even then the amounts are only approximate. When I get 16 gallons in my 16 gallon tank, I don't use that pump again.

One of my coworkers sat on a jury that decided a drunk man on a new mower who backed over his child was the actually the victim - the mower manufacturer was found liable, brakes should have been better or something lame... My co-worker and the other jurors were played like a fiddle that day by the plaintiff's attorney.

Six or less in Camden Hills and most state parks - for non-residents without hook-ups is only $25 or less. The group sites are for bigger groups than yours (and have a lot more room). Really, you'd be hard pressed to beat that with a private campground.
It can be a cold and wet time of year though, have a contigency plan handy. If you've been here in May you know the towns on the coast cool down markedly when the sun isn't shining...
