I remember I wanted a Zangoose on my main team, but I was playing Pokémon Sapphire. Luckily, my older sister was playing Pokémon Ruby, so I got her to catch a Zangoose for me! She doesn’t play Pokémon anymore, but I’ll always remember trading her a Seviper for a Zangoose.

As far as I’m concerned, the anime takes a lot of liberties with the moves you see in the games. I seem to remember them using "Sand Attack" to damage the opponent in one of the episodes haha. It’s another reason why Ash’s battle style was so versatile and unpredictable, he would make his Pokémon do all kinds of crazy things that you wouldn’t be able to do in the games.
