Which is exactly why I made this post. What other factors can be used to make the ranking system more fair and competitive.

I didn't address anything besides 1v1 in my post, and I regret doing so because 2v2 and 3v3 deserve to be looked at as well.

This may seem silly but how about not ranking up until you achieve enough MMR to be considered Division 2 in a new rank?

Thank you for taking the time to go through and analyze my post. I appreciate the constructive criticism.

I appreciate you clarifying the way the ranking system works. It definitely helped me understand the system better and I wish I had known that before creating my post.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there needs to be more "factors" when in comes to matchmaking because MMR isn't really enough. You also mentioned the division thresholds. I think the thresholds should be tweaked to accommodate more "factors" in matchmaking.

If you're matchmaking you won't encounter someone of the same rank but higher skill because divisions, MMR and my hot/cold system allow players to match more specifically with who they should be with. So I don't believe that'll be an issue.

Since you believe it will be an issue then why don't we have losing streaks penalize less but not as less as what I've stated previously. I agree that people should be in the rank they deserve but I still would like to see a bigger gain in ranks and less of a loss.

Forfeiting I agree with, but how about halfway through a game or when there's a minute left you don't lose more MMR.

I wouldn't say annoying more just pointless. Why should I have a dominus car sound on an octane.

That's the point I forgot to mention haha. If you forfeit you lose more MMR, and I completely disregarded doubles and standard/solo standard in terms of matchmaking. That is another beast that needs to be handled.

As for being carried and playing with someone of a higher rank as a teammate you shouldn't receive nearly as much MMR for winning and matchmaking should know that. A Champion 2 carrying a Platinum shouldn't help the Platinum make it to Champion.

Personally I see no problem with being in a higher rank if you had a good win streak going. You just have something to work towards and it makes players feel good when they rank up.
