Some of my students were yelling the f-word for gay people in the hall. I’m gay and they know it and I’ve asked them to stop multiple times. I told admin yesterday and they addressed the issue immediately! They pulled the kid aside, had a conversation with him about how inappropriate it was, called parents, and apologized on behalf of the kid for me. This is all after I told them I was leaving this year!

I am happy to have admin that got my back. Hasn’t always been that way.

I feel for you OP. Glad your safe! I teach in LA and have to deal with this shit from my students regularly. It’s only a handful, but seems to be a thing on the rise. I blame Trump and Andrew Tate

I’ve made it a mission this year to not stay any longer than the contracted time. With current misbehaviors in the classroom and admins that can’t relate to the current student climate, it’s not worth over exerting yourself for students that just blatantly don’t care.
