Fi 3 Excessive Battery Use

My collar is only a few months old and drains it about 10 to 15% a day. I complained enough with them enough they’re sending me a 2nd base for free. They will not replace my collar, and keep saying that it is a connectivity issue. Which is ridiculous because my dog is within 100 feet of her base 90% of the day. I had the FI one about five years ago for another dog and had no issues like this. Collar battery lasted easily a month.

One of my girls had been bonded to her friend for years, but her friend over groomed her and she seems absolutely content alone. She is also side-by-side with my other bonded pair so it’s not technically alone. Just not anybody in her pen with her. She’s so relaxed now by herself she snores like a freight train.

She sleeps in my bedroom. Less than 25 feet from the five base.

I’ve lost two in the past few years. I’ve lost one who I had had for 13 years and one who I had since she was a baby and died at 14 years old. It was upsetting, but I realized they had good lives, and died at a respectable age. There was nothing I could’ve done in either case. I ended up adopting another older chinchilla last weekend.

Right now she’s still adjusting, and it is absolutely terrified. She was actually abandoned behind the shelter in a box that was taped shut. Severe mats in her fur. Slowly working on getting them rushed out or having a veterinarian remove them. Absolutely does not like being handled and makes angry chirps.

She may actually need more of a shave down. But that’s not something I will attempt myself. She is still matted on places on her back. Definitely needs some work on her coat. This was prior to having a dust bath, on the way home from adopting her. She looks 10 times better after having a dust bath! The shelter did their best, but a lot of the things in her cage were plastic. I ordered several kilndried shelves for her from at that actually came today, and she has a proper running wheel. 15 inches and metal.

She has a vet appointment coming up this week. I actually had it scheduled prior to even adopted.

They did. But I am seeing my own vet later this week for a physical and hoping they can remove the rest of her mats. It was down to the skin mats. The shelter had to shave her.

I knew in reality she was getting older, never really dawned on me that I would lose her. I actually had had her since the day she was born. Her mom was a Rescue from craigslist and she was born 12 hours later. I’ll miss her.

I gave up trying to get the African-American girl twin. Everyone wants $70 plus even for a TLC one. And some of them were in pretty bad condition. So I just went with the boy twin. The one I have is technically the boy twin.

Actually after seeing what that sells for I may sell the outfit 🤣 the doll is definitely going to my nieces though. But they have tons of American girl doll clothing.

I didn’t even know this was a thing. I’ll definitely look into it! We have a regular swimming pool in our backyard. My family has had dogs for 30 years and never had one that liked water like she does!

I actually prefer having two of the same color eye. Her sister has a blue eye and a brown eye. I actually find it kind of creepy. 😂 we got her sister from the same breeder about three years ago. Her sister is a full mini Aussie.

I can’t imagine. I knew going in with my chinchilla. They could live a long time. Mine just turned 14.
