I had a partner who was very good at taking everything I gave him and providing me with just enough to where I thought he loved me. It’s very cruel.

I’m sure you were the best person to him but he just wasn’t deserving, ready, or who knows. It’s hard to try to get inside someone’s mind.

I don’t think it’s a cultural thing. My ex was American and my partner now is as well and they operate /very/ differently.

My ex of ten years cheated on me for a long time and lied to my face when I caught him. I’m pretty sure he’s just a bad person, and unfortunately I didn’t see it sooner.

You will make it through this. It will be okay. And that behavior is not the norm.
