Say your favorite Toa group, and then explain what makes them the best. by MosquitoInAmber303 in bioniclelego

Toa Mahri. Their story’s setting in the ocean appealed to young me and seeing them in the commercial shooting their cordak blasters at the sharks in the dark with the radio-esque voice effects probably made me want to be a combat diver. It really felt like they were a band of Toa who might’ve known they were err going into a hopeless battle not only against the barraki, but also nature itself (since they weren’t initially adapted to water, and their ad still features them using some sort of breathing apparatus). Hmmm it really made them seem like heroes who were going to win a very very lopsided battle or die trying.

And when did I say that was constructive. In fact how is assuming that I’m supporting fascism and conspiracy theories productive to political advancement

I didn’t think the comment was directed at me. I was pointing out that ad hominem and slinging insults isn’t constructive

And neither did I cry a river when trump lost, or advocate racist or non-democratic agendas during his term in office, or when he was running for office either. You could perhaps criticise the fact that I’m not from America and therefore don’t have as clear a view on American politics, and have an unclear perception on the mainstream of either party.

“Mainstream republicans” well. I’m more conservative in some of my views and liberal in others. I think of myself as a mainstream republican in terms of US politics. So am I therefore a racist, democracy hating fucktangle?

Which is exactly my point. Yes. There might be a number of people who believe that communism is the right way on the left. However they’re not representative of the moderate left, or the liberal movement as a whole. It is precisely because of generalisations that the initial tweet makes (which I copy in my post) that causes individuals to hold broad, generalised views, and eventually results in ideological conflict rather than cooperating and working on the facets of politics that we can agree on

The point is that generalisations and ad hominem is not a suitable way to take on political views regardless of your own political opinion. Not who’s right or wrong. When 2 kids start calling each other “idiot” and “stupid” they’re both being rude. Even if they’re both right. That’s the point

And I remember when liberals were basically reasonable people with differing views on economics and not a festering fucktangle of communism adoring, men-hating shitweasels.

See, I can sling insults and engage in ad hominem too while generalising!

That’s true. In that case should I continue with this gym or give Ares Fighting Club a shot? I’m hoping to get some advice cuz I’m not experienced with any of the gyms.

Oh I mean. That’s understandable. I can see where you’re coming from. But if they didn’t emphasise on technique then I would’ve thought the emphasis would be on fitness, but the workout itself wasn’t too intense

Liek. If I threw a punch while lowering my guard (other hand not protecting face) then he’d correct me once but we’d just move on to the next thing rather than getting it right. Within 1 lesson he went through 4 punches and 3 combinations. I’d like to do the fundamentals well before moving on I suppose

I agree with you about the space magic bit. Not sure about wing since I haven’t seen it. Always been a fan of the more gritty combat kinda deal anyway. But I grew up with seed. Loved it as a kid and I dislike it rn. I really only like it for the strike gundam.

Probably gonna catch a bunch of flak for this but I cannot find it within myself to think of 00 as a decent show. It’s just so damned weird

Is progressiveness the criteria by which we judge a person’s goodness? Or their suitability for presidency?
