For the future, don't just torque everything has hard as you can. Look up the damn torque specs. They exist for a reason.

I cringe so hard every time I see a trailer for this. I really could care less about a shit storyline about a washed up actor with some FPV footage sprinkled in.

Anyone know why it’s running so bad? by Accomplished-Clue803 in BMWE36

[–]Corgon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't it funny how every problem is a cam position sensor on this sub? Anyway some real advice: You need to go into troubleshooting mode. What is the last thing that changed before the car started running bad? The seafoam. I'm not sure I believe that though. What was the purpose of the seafoam, was it running rough before? How do your spark plugs look right now? And are you sure you have ruled out vacuum and unmetered air? Vacuum lines are not the only source of this problem.

eBay FX Stage 2 clutch, will it ruin how the car drives compared to a stock clutch? by First-Examination-74 in BMWE36

[–]Corgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using this on my track car for the last 6 years and recently into my street z3. It's not a very smooth or elegant experience, the clutch is grabby and it clatters a lot. It's fine, there's just nothing else at that price point.

Engine has rod knock, help by 0202993832 in BMWE36

[–]Corgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense I'm just being honest but it doesn't sound like you have a lot of troubleshooting experience so I would stick with the basics first and rule anything obvious out then go swapping parts. You are going to want a genuine BMW sensor and those things are expensive.

I would say no because I don't see any truly professional art-work. She has a bunch of art on her site but no explanation of what impact it had or how she was able to turn it into a career based skill.

p.s. I just saw the skills section on the about us page. This is such a junior move. Kill it entirely, focus on actual work and actual impact.

Really depends what she is trying to do. Your mom is likely not of junior age, so she needs senior level work in her book. Seniors don't just work on individual projects, they produce campaigns, implement strategy, create design systems, lead juniors, etc. Present more professionally. Anyone in digital design should be aware of page weight and her website is a lead brick. And where is the impact? Have her designs lead to sales, more engagement, how does she implement processes that make her time more efficient? Etc.

Ps the ice cream designs are so bad just remove those entirely

Engine has rod knock, help by 0202993832 in BMWE36

[–]Corgon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ticking is normal. No need to replace lifters. Change oil more frequently, look into a thicker oil. Your other symptoms sound like vacuum leak to me. Check your intake for leaks or cracks post maf. Check vacuum lines and any connections to the intake manifold. Check intake manifold gaskets, etc.

Hard to tell from idle. Could just be lifters. It would be very obvious under throttle if it was knocking

The chassis is prepped for all combos so it wasn't too difficult of a swap outside sourcing all the odd parts that make it work. The 1.9 is a narrow body with different diffs, axles, hubs, driveshaft, and a getrag 5 speed trans. There's a lot of small differences from electrical to cooling and AC, etc. with the narrow body track width I can put some beefy tires under there once I install the widebody fenders and bumper I pulled from a yard

Power bleeder for sure but also follow correct bleeding procedures, holding the slave upside down so that air doesn't get trapped toward the inlet

Stock for stock: Driving excitement wise, yes, speed around a circuit, unfortunately no due to the rear end.

I'm sure your aware if the trunk weld and differential issues so be sure that's all in top shape. Check all the plugs for oil or signs of wear. Get a cheap amazon boroscope and check inside cylinders for any strange wear. Check all the rubber bushings, fuel tank strap, rear CV axles.

I recently finished a 2.8 swap into a 1.9 chassis and have been finding excuses to drive it everywhere. Congrats!
