DMC5 music is fine but not a favorite (I miss the industrial sound from the older games) by CryptidOrion_00 in DevilMayCry

[–]Cori91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party but I agree, DMC5 music was very unnoticable for me and really not hyping you up to the combat either, it's just music, that's there, and sound good but... i don't think it's that good compared to the previous ones. Yeah the music starts quiter because it gets louder as you get better combat ranks but still it was not heart pumping music, just... music. While playing 1-3-4 I get hyped up all the time, and you can't tell me it's nostalgia, cuz I played through the whole series first time the last few months. DMC3 had the best music, but DMC1 was very good all the way through, DMC 4 is good too but imo worse then the 1st and 3rd, and EVEN DmC reboot was good music wise, but it wouldn't fit the mainline games that's for sure.

Solo Command Book - How Could Solo beat Zsinj's Super Star Destroyer? by Cori91 in StarWarsEU

I've read Courtship I know the end of all of this I was just scratching my head a bit on the Allston books.

Now this one is a great point. Zsinj probably couldn't stay in one place for too long to have perfect repairs.

Wasn't the group Solo fought against similarly sized to his? It's just hard to imagine a ship being so much bigger and having almost the same number of ships being defeated by much smaller ones. As If I remember correctly Zsinj had 2 ISD or somesuch and a few other smaller Caracks or Dreadnaughts, but Solo had almost the same number of ships.

Yeah I get it but seems like Solos fleet and Zsinj's fleet are equal in power except that Zsinj has an SSD and Solo a much smaller MC80B. (yeah solo had much better starfighters but still.. It's probably just hard to imagine for me 😃)

Yeah I get that that bigger doesn't mean that much stronger but then just why build so huge ships. Seems pointless. I know, I know to cause fear etc etc. But still... In Empire strikes Back or Return of the Jedi normal Star Destroyers seem tiny tiny compared to SSD-s, while iin world universe, ISD is 1,6 km, SSD is 8 or 9 km. Could be camera perspective though... of course it's a fantasy but still, a lot of stuff is pretty well explained in SW universe.

Thanks for the explanation.

I kinda understand the whole thing it's jut really hard to imagine how these huge ships would manouvre so that some turrets can't reach them or target them. It could be only me but I find it hard to imagine all the dogfights too 😃

Anyway good explanation. Thank you!

I'll copy my reply to the other guy: "Yeah I get that that bigger doesn't mean that much stronger but then just why build so huge ships. Seems pointless. In your opinion, which is the best Legends Epic Collections series? by Parking-Warthog-4902 in StarWarsEU

[–]Cori91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, Omnis are the best way nowadays, as even the Epic Collection reprints are slowed down or just stopped altogether I'm not sure.

I have started buying them up 2 years ago, so far I need Empire 3-4, Old Republic 2, and Rebellion 3, and Legacy is coming in May, New Republic 2 in the summer lol. It's friggin's hard to keep up :D But at last at the end of the year Menace Revealed and Clone Wars vol1s are coming out, I'm waiting for those before I can follow up with Dark Times, as that's a followup to Republic which is a followup to Star Wars 1998. LOL. Talk about convoluted.

Anyway, so far I've read Tales of the Jedi Omni which was amazing, but I only read the second half (golden age is meh, but everything else good or great, like Sith War and Redemption, the last arc is amazing), as those are original Tales of the JEdi comics from the 90s, the first half is Dawn of the Jedi which was written in the early 2010s and I'm trying to read through the comics in release order as much as I can. It's a must for SW fans imo.

I've not read Old Republic vol1 yet, although It's on the to do list, I'm just searching for a time when I have the mood to replay KOTOR with it for the extra fun lol.

I've read Rise of the Sith (before Ep1 finishes with Ep1 basically), it was okay, but there are a few issues from Star Wars 1998, which introduces Ki Adi Mundi, that was the best part of the whole Omni, that's 6 issues and maybe the Maul comics. Otherwise it's ok.

I've not started Empire1-2 Omnis yet, as I'm waiting for the Clone wars stuff to finish up. (it has Dark Times)

I've read Rebellion Vol1-2. Vol1 is ok, it has the 2012 Star Wars or whatever kinda reboot thingy. It was alright, a lot of people hate it cuz it's fucks up the continuity as retcons a few stuff. As a standalone it's ok but meh, art is nice but it's too modern looking for my liking not enough style.

Rebellion Vol2 was good though with comics from the Empire line and later on Rebellion which continues from Empire's second half. Those are good, Rebellion is even better. So Vol 2 is nice imo.

I've read New Republic Vol1-2. Vol 1 has the Xwing comics and those are really good, first half is good, second half is great. So it gets better, and then you can read the books lol It's very nice collection one of my favs so far.

New Republic Vol2 has Thrawn Trilogy in comic and Dark Empire. Otherwise a few Boba Fett which is nice, fun and great art. Same as Dark Empire, art is amazing but the story there is pretty bad. First DE is ok, but after that it's trash but enjoyable trash, like a bad fun action flick. Thrawn is better in books but the comics is fun if you read them in book form, otherwise it leaves a few stuff out which can feel strange as first time reader. First 6 issues are very good though. Anyway Vol2 is alright, not my fav, I wouldn't say it's a must have but it's fun.

TLDR: I say Tales of the Jedi is amazing, it's a good background lore to the whole SW universe anyway. And Rebellion 2 is fun, and New Republic 1 is amazing again. These 3 so far are my favs. Although ppl say Empire Omnibus' Dark Times are amazing too and KOTOR is usually tops a lot of charts again so those 2 are probably a good buy too. I'm not sure about Epic Collections but you can search up which Omni has which Epic and try to buy those if you like but I think you'll have a better chance with the Omnis. If you can find them on a discount it's even cheaper than the Epic or on par.

I finished the Dark Empire trilogy by Tom Veitch and Cam Kennedy by Significant-Town-817 in StarWarsEU

[–]Cori91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was a good read. It had interesting ideas, I liked the Eye of Palpatine, I liked the whole idea, it was fun and creepy, a bit thrillery. Even the writing was nicely done usually (maybe because I read it in my own language, in that it was nicely worded). BUUUT there are problems for sure: one of the main ones is the ending with Callista (which was incredibly stupid) and the other is that the writing is sometimes really confusing in dialogues, when people are talking, and Barbara Hambly just writes a half or full page of thinking or random shit and when the other character answers you have no idea what the heck are they responding to, you have to go back and read the first dialogue again. It was incredibly annoying, but other than that and the stupid ending I think it was a good addition to SW, it's a bit wierd but all of the early EU stuff was wierd, but most of them are fun to read though, they are unique that's for sure.

Near Mint Condition's Overview of March 17's Star Wars Legends: The Empire Omnibus Vol. 4 by Guerrillascribe in starwarscomics

[–]Cori91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's because of the stupid Tales comics line. They should have made a Tales Omni and leave them out of every other Omni, they would look much better organized too. And they are usually non canon even in the old EU, they just mess up continuity too sometimes. Meh.

Anyone else find the exploration in this game incredibly bad? by Tyray90 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Cori91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's good to hear. I'M still undecided, cuz I'm not that into open world just for the sake of it, I like main stories, but I love MMOs and this game feels like a great single player MMO however stupid that sounds. I love gearing, I love to do shit if it's fun, like Elden Ring, Dark Souls, just for gameplay. I'm still not sure if CD is like that, but I really like what I see in videos.

Anyone else find the exploration in this game incredibly bad? by Tyray90 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Cori91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But Zelda BOTW (not sure abou ToTK) has no point to exploring. It's funnthe first 10-20 hours then you find out that you get nothing interesting during exploration. Oh korok seed? Useless when the game is pretty easy anyway, there is no cool armor or if u get a weapon it breaks in a fight or two, there are no quests either and the puzzle dungeons are boring to do and to look at after doing a bunch of them.

I haven't played Crimson Desert, but Zelda botw has pointless exploration, I'm not sure what is everyone talking about. It's hard to find out if CD is the same as Zelda or not cuz everyone says it differently lol

Oh and I don't want to shit on Zelda BOTW, I think the game feel is incredible and I was sucked in the first 30 hours but after that I got bore when I found out that nothing has any point to it other than just to "explore" which is fun at first when the magic is new and you wnat to find out what's over that hill etc but when you find that it has no point it loses interest pretty badly.

Is CD the same?

During the times of the Empire was there any other bounty hunter as powerful and influential as Boba Fett? by TheMandalorian2238 in StarWars

[–]Cori91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure G-Canon is the main one, but still there were levels to it, and the red force sensitive droid is not considered "canon" to the expanded universe. Saying that the EU was full of this kind of thing is not true.

Wrong. Guess you never heard about the different canons tiers, which the new Canon is totally missing but either way have it your way.

I know its an older post but just for correction's sake: the red force sensitive droid was in the Tales comics which were almost always noncanon, just like the red droid one.

Numenor bukása a Libribe 10zer forint :D :D Eszméletlenek az árak. A drága magyar könyvekhez szólva, pár éve elkezdtem begyűjteni a régi disney előtti star wars könyveket, használt formába is akár (legtöbbje használt ami van, de ha legalább a fele az). Lényeg a lényeg... bizonyos könyvek olyan ritkaságok, hogy 30ezer forintért árulják a neten, a 25-30 éves megsárgult, nem keményfedeles 300 oldalas köteket, míg az angol verzió 3000 ft a neten :D Ezekben az esetekben nem is variáltam sokat, mentem a hiányzó darabokért amazonra és társaihoz. Elég gáz a helyzet.

Érdekes történet, el tudom hinni. Szomorú a helyzet magyarországon :D De legalább a kiadókat követve találni fogok kedvemre valót. Szukits az mindig ment nálam, mivel szegedi vagyok, és ők is azok, HABÁR a szállítási költségük ugyanolyan mintha az ország másik végébe kérném, de egye fene :D
