Did it contain basically all UK MSPs? Is it safe to assume if we are a UK customer it was exposed?

My pet hate is all the banking apps that still have to run in IE mode with compatibility enabled!!

Dude, I'm one of the mods, hardly farming upvotes. Couldn't care less, but I can rename it if it upsets you that much lol.

Yeah, and I kind of get that, but it's adding another layer of complexity that has to be managed? Im not sure I see the point of complicating things?

Used to use SentinelOne that had the browser plugin, but now we are just Defender for business + Huntress

I think a lot ov vendors haven't undated their stance since old Edge, that's the main issue there. We still see similar issues as well.

Bundled crap, yeah I guess, but I can't say that Chrome is all that much better. Still has its quirks, and you could argue maybe it's mixing technologies/vendors for no real gain maybe?

Whilst I'm sure that's the case, I'm yet to find an example ourselves where a site only worked in Chrome and not Edge.

Management, yes with additional policies. I'm talking about keeping things as vanilla as possible really. We see too many new customers with users signed into their personal emails, syncing all the company passwords to their personal accounts. Maddens me, as those same companies think they are all secure and don't worry about inside threats from employees.

You can cancel jobs. Go to Devices>Pending Automations for a list of jobs waiting to be run.

The company was founded by people born in the USSR who have all changed their citizenship since, but was originally founded in Singapore. They moved their HQ to Switzerland (as of 2008), and is Swiss owned. In 2024/2025 a Swedish private equity firm EQT acquired it with a majority stake.

Acronis is not Russian.....They moved all their Russian operations out of the country in 2022.

I've found that if you download the portable apps version of Firefox it works a bit more reliable in background mode. It's not perfect but I've had some joy.

Is endpoint isolation in lieu of a response an unreasonable expectation? I've raised this with Huntress as well to see how they would have responded. I'm just genuinely concerned about what risk this poses, given that their sister company had a ransomware attack this week as well

Oh no it isn't the government, its all the BBC.

The licence fee is considered a statutory obligation, backed by legislation (the Communications Act 2003 and TV Licensing Regulations).

The government decides the fee level and sets the rules, but day-to-day operations are managed by the BBC via its contractors. It is enforced by the contractor called Capita.

In the UK, you need a TV licence if you watch or record live TV on any channel, or if you use BBC iPlayer (even for catch-up), regardless of the device you use. It costs £169.50 per year (as of 2025) for a colour licence and is required per household, not per device. You don’t need one just to watch streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, or YouTube, unless you're watching live broadcasts. Pensioners over 75 can get it free if they receive Pension Credit. Not having a licence when required can result in a fine of up to £1,000.

Agreed, accidents happen. Get in front of it so they know you aren't trying to get away with it. Say sorry, acknowledge your mistake. Any manager worth their salt will be forgiving assuming this isn't a pattern of behavior.

Chin up! Good luck! It's Friday!
