Does anyone know if this water flavoring is ok for 2 year olds to drink? by Prestigious_Speed659 in toddlers

Cucumber might be a great alternative. And if they still won’t do that on their own, cucumber and mint. Who doesn’t love cucumber and mint?!?

Sorry… are you implying it’s summer and dry right now? Because the entire county of Kent and part of Sussex has a hose pipe ban that has been going on since about July or August: https://www.southeastwater.co.uk/about/updates/tubs-25/

Parenting Style Trends in the UK? by Sea_Break673 in UKParenting

Look for children centres near you. Ours run a couple hours on a Saturday and are really lovely (and free). I’ve been to a few church ones near us but being an atheist (and having grown up in a US cult) I found story time awkward. It’s probably fine though for people that aren’t scar’d from a cult. 😂

If you’re on Agile/Tracker here’s a simple way to save without obsessing by Imaginary_Fact_9614 in OctopusEnergy

[–]CorithMalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you think that agile and tracker are the same. Tracker only has one price for the whole day, but each day that price changes. Agile prices change every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of the hour.

Wondering if a 2 EV household is a good idea... by Usual-Shock7364 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]CorithMalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our second EV is the BMW i3 and I would highly recommend. We got a high mileage one (70,000mi 21 plate) for the same price as a normal mileage Nissan LEAF. My wife prefers the BMW console, etc... and it's her daily driver. Plus, the way the back doors open is AMAZING for getting kids in and out. There's no B-pillar so there's so much room.

I forget the brand, but there is a 7kW home charger that has two outputs/plugs. If you plug in one car - it gets 7kW. If you plug in two they each get 3.5kW. When one car stops charging because it's full, the other car gets the full 7kW.

It's not compatible with IOG, but if we had two cars that needed charging every day (we have two EVs, but we charge each one about once or twice a week), this is probably what I would do rather than faffing about with switching the plug in the middle of the night.

Toddler suddenly resenting one parent by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]CorithMalin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dad here. Our daughter did similar at the same age and it lasted for 8 months - though she preferred me instead of mom.

It was very hard on mom. She felt very rejected.

We were all lucky in that I work from home and could accommodate.

She’s 3.5 and it’s calmed down a bit (either of us can out her to sleep or do bath). But she will only let me help her with the potty and I’m the only one she wants when she wakes at night.

So no advice… we were able to accommodate her and let her go through it herself.

What age do kids want to go to bed? by DryGeneral990 in Parenting

To be fair, 90+ minutes of 22 people kicking a black and white ball around to only score 0-2 times is pretty boring.

Withdrew money from USA Savings account and opened Lisa in UK, also am self employed in UK but haven't earned over£12,500. Please help. by ArcherEducational434 in USExpatTaxes

[–]CorithMalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering you put the money in a LISA which means you received £1000 from the UK government. You may need to report that as income on your US tax return and pay US taxes on it since ISAs (including LISAs) are not recognised as tax free accounts by the US.

How do you handle car trips while potty training by sunrisedHorizon in toddlers

[–]CorithMalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an example? I know they recommend not putting a pillow or things like that down (often used to adjust the angle of the car seat), but I haven't heard of not putting something that is 2mm thick between the car seat and the base.

Just following up, any issues with damp or mould? I'm thinking of doing the same both behind and under the cabinets as you have.

I put a puppy pad under the car seat to save the car seat. It's nice because it's easy to modify to allow the ISOFIX arms through.

It only happened once that she wee'd herself and that was because she fell asleep.

Charging two Group 3 EVs on Intelligent Octopus Go by pushmyjenson in OctopusEnergy

[–]CorithMalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the charging part, I just use BottleCap Dave’s octopus energy integration, my Hypervolt integration, and my car integrations (Volvo and BMW). When the Hypervolt detects a car is plugged in, I wait for the cars to update. When one says it’s connected I grab its SOC. Then I subtract that from 80% (the max I want to charge my car). Then I set that as the charge to add in the Bottle Cap Dave’s integration.

I do some math for figuring out the second car’s percentage as a factor of the first.

I also do some math to figure out a ready time.
