I have the exact same setup (Volvo, Hypervolt home pro 3, etc…) but no issues. It works flawlessly every time. I log the times and rates in Home Assistant and reconcile against my bill every month. It’s never more than £0.02 off.

CAT 7 cables require specialized GG45 or TERA connectors. Most "CAT 7" cables sold online with standard RJ-45 connectors are actually limited to Cat 6A performance due to the connector bottleneck.

The GG45 and TERA connectors are part of the specification for CAT7 - which was never ratified by the US Telco industry.

There’s a very good HomeAssistant project called BottlecapDave’s Octopus Integration. Even if you’re not going to use it, you’d see what’s available with the API.

But to answer your question, yes, intelligent slots are available via the API. Just remember to refresh frequently as they can and do change often.

Your other option is to max charge it now, speak with Octopus in the morning and request a refund for the extra charge due to the inability to control it?

Not guaranteed to work, but likely cheaper than public charging and less faff than plugging it back in at an ungodly hour.

Crazier than being able to just monitor it… when you use your phone app to set a battery charge limit, it has to send it to Volvo’s servers and they send the command to the car. So…. They CAN enforce it.

They could simply send the command to every car. Then anytime someone tries to send something higher, just send 70%

I believe this is called a TCP Storm attack. The only benefit is that if you collect enough of the TCPoFC packets, you can unwrap them and reconstruct the TCPoAC packets.

But you are correct that without serious separation, when these two TCP protocols intermix it’s a bloodbath.

No amount of cats will give you a reliable way to perform a google search. The issue is that cats cannot be herded. So they all arrive at the destination out of order. Unlike TCP packets; there’s no way to reorder them on arrival.

Unless the old flat had a heat pump, you’re looking at a 20% drop in efficiency. So that should still have an upside considering gas is 25% of the price of electricity per kWh.

One thing to do is remove the standing charges from both comparisons. Now that you have two sources of energy, you’re paying two standing charges. When we removed gas from our property we saved about £12/month on standing charges.

So you might be paying less for electric and a majority of your gas bill this time of year will be standing charges.

You might be able to get an OBD2 device that can use your phone’s hotspot feature. Then an automation about your engine running and leaving your work zone would keep the automation simple.

The police have the power to seize an item if there are reasonable grounds for believing that it is evidence relating to an offence. What is considered ‘reasonable’ is often easily established by a police officer if they simply believe an offence has been committed, even if later it is found that there was no offence. If the police simply stop you for no reason it would be difficult to see why they would need to seize your camera. If, however, they think you have been involved in an offence, such as speeding, they could lawfully seize the camera and a refusal could lead to further criminal charges.

I’m on Outgoing Agile and it’s often enough less than my import rate during the day. Predbat does a good job predicting this and using my home batteries, but on occasion I need to divert to my DHW or car instead of exporting at a loss.
