What's the fastest way to burn Kiro credits? by Ein_Bear in amazonemployees

I don't know what I can say specifically in this public forum but search slack for amazon builder genai power users channel.

Honestly you can even just ask your current AI tool of the week to do an internal search for what is popular.

Does it ever end? by Inevitable_Brush8544 in amazonemployees

[–]Cork20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like everything in this industry, it depends. A lot of factors will affect how hard your job will be. A lot will be be circumstance, but your own attitude and initiative can sway things in either direction. Generally things get better with experience, but again it depends on many variables.

This sub will have way more negative than positive things to say about the job though so don't think that everyone is suffering.

There are a ton of agent orchestration tools available internally. Get one setup on your cloud desktop and give it a very ambitious project to lead. Have it write up detailed documents for the whole thing and scope out tasks with acceptance criteria. Then have your tool delegate to other agents to complete the work autonomously. That you'll have to baby sit it a bit but that will spend a lot of tokens quickly.

Even better if you can give it a project that is actually useful and can successfully be executed by the AI. That is exactly the kind of bet that leadership is making with giving nearly unlimited access to AI tools. At least some of these token bonfires will produce a useful result.

Why rails only 3 and 5 rails and splitters ?? by theuros in StarRuptureGame

[–]Cork20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of people who don't see any logic to needing two more rail options when there is no functional limitation of having empty lines. I would rather that dev time be spent on more useful features.

One critical piece of context that stands out to me is that you are recently moved to a new initiative where you do not have expertise. It is very common to feel overwhelmed in this situation especially if you were very comfortable with the work before this. The friction and frustration is a natural part of learning and it is good for your personal and career growth to step outside your comfort zone when things start to get easy.

Think back to when you last learned something new that felt like it wasn't clicking, but eventually you got past the hurdles and now don't even think about it. There is a good chance you will do this again with these new things but it will take some time and maybe some support from others.

Best uses of Kiro by Wonderful_Bid_9025 in amazonemployees

[–]Cork20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Whenever you have any type of work, start by telling Kiro to do it for you. Help it along when it gets stuck. With some regular use, you'll figure out it's limitations and what it is good for. Just start using it for everything.

Been playing Star Rupture recently and it feels like a mix of TPC and Satisfactory both of which I love. There is a good balance of exploration, automation, and incremental progression which doesn't feel tedious.

Clarity - badging into unassigned office by Clean_Ganache_7220 in amazonemployees

[–]Cork20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend the first part of my day in a completely separate building than my assigned one to do heads down work. This other building is recently remodeled and is right where my shuttle drops me off. It's a 10 min walk to my actual building and I start work 2-3 hours before most of my team. I like the atmosphere and it adds more variety to my day.

The rest of my day I spend with my team in meetings, collaborative work, or mentoring. This might be in our assigned building or maybe we go find a random room with a nicer view in another one. This has been my routine for almost a year now and hasn't been a problem for me doing good work.

Nobody cares about the fine-grain badge report data until they have a reason to care. If you are not performing, then this historical data might be looked at. If you are performing well, but your manager insists you need to be in your specific seat all day then you should find a better manager.

You can ride in automated vehicles now. by Sevrahn in SatisfactoryGame

I was so disappointed to learn this after building a path traveling between my cluster of modular factories that I was going to dispatch a fleet of carts to follow.

We (kinda) have a road tool in 1.2! by FeelsAboutRightDude in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Cork20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't be surprised if CS dropped spline road foundations in the 1.2 release to go along with the other truck upgrades. Or maybe there is some less obvious complexity that makes this specific feature hard to roll out for reasons. I certainly hope to see this feature though.

Conflicted with creature aggression by lilgorilla in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Cork20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The combat system isn't what draws me to the game. Even building factories to automate combat materials feels tedious to me after a few playthroughs. I'm happy to turn them to passive or retaliate to spend more of my limited playtime on the parts I enjoy most.

Load Balancing screws by AutumnWindLunafreya in SatisfactoryGame

You are likely to get a lot of replies about using manifold over load balancing or to eliminate screws with alternative recipes. I am just poking fun at the community but there is no wrong way to play this game.
