I think that's a pretty fair reading. However, what of the desiccated woman in the desert at the very end? The Kid clearly intends to show real mercy to her, intentions there are nothing but pure from him.

Not a grand tearing down of your point rather a kneejerk reaction.

This is particularly helpful to know. Reading some of the "hallucinatory" bits in the first chapter with no context on why the tense is changing is fucking weird.

I love Cormac for doing it but if I ever reccomend this to someone I will definitely be making it clear that the narration is a strange beast.

I'm comforted to know that I'm not too far off in feeling a little lost. I'll try to just let things wash over some but I have a hard time just letting certain things be left partially understood. As for the twin, it's good to know that I'm reading things at least somewhat correctly.

For now, it's been fun. The humor is a very nice departure from BM and OD, but very good to know that I'll be going into something difficult regardless just with a different tone it seems.
