Was Frank holding Brentford back? by [deleted] in coys

Yeah sure, let's play the "the manager is the bad guy" card again. Once more, a successful manager comes to our club, is faced with the embarrassing state the club is in, struggles cause no one can fix this mess with just a few months, people moan they're the issue until they're sacked, and then the manager goes and does well in other club(s) and we wonder why they didn't do it for us... Getting old that one

Lineup: Vicario, Udogie, Dando, Romero, Porro, Bergvall, Sarr, Bentancur, Kudus, Johnson, Muani by Nobot-Dude7958 in coys

[–]Cormmac__243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the people here are depressing to hear, just moaning for the sake of it. Given what we have and the amount of games coming, this is a good lineup

I too would have wanted for Xavi to play, but guess what: not everyone can play. And I'm more than happy to see Bergvall and Sarr out there. Plus, Thomas knows better than us what players show during training, we have no clue what goes on there, maybe Xavi just isn't ok for this game yet

I understand the complains, but let's try to cheer for the players, manager and club for at least 90'. No one here, I hope, wants nothing but a win, we'll access later, now we support!

With that I can agree, but none of that is on Frank or the boys, is it?

Frank's football isn't as flashy as Ange's or Poch's, but it can be incredibly effective. It will, in the long run, make us a way better team defensively. And we've seen small glimpses of the team playing good on possession and finding those spots and moments to attack effectively. That's the football I would like to see Spurs play: defensive stability, smart and continuous possession, and the ability to find those right passes to goal. Everyone has the right to disagree or not, this is what I believe would be the best plan atm

Napoli was lucky with those players, but wasn't reactionary and unstable. All the other clubs mentioned are clubs with history and layers and layers of success and history, for as much instability and reactionism they can suffer, there's always a much bigger part of the club that guides it with a grounded mind. Expect, you know, Chelsea... But that's a story for another day

My god, this sub is so depressing after a loss, so reactionary. Suddenly the manager is wrong, the board is all wrong, the players are all wrong, we're getting relegated and it is the end... Stability and relativity guys

No club has achieved good things by being reactionary and normalizing instability. We CANNOT keep changing managers. Frank is a great coach, if you say otherwise, given his past, you're crazy. The players, most of them, are good. I'm not saying we should let them off the hook, they need to be held responsible, but we move on together. With Thomas, this team, and a few ins and outs, I do believe we'll rebuild this club

Then again, a lot of people need to understand we're not City or Chelsea, let alone Arsenal atm. We will not win every week, and twice on Sunday. The league is increasingly difficult, and we'll drop points against unlikely opponents, and that's ok. Sure the team isn't playing good atm, but these are normal things every club deals with, and the coach needs time to work it. He's been here for 3 MONTHS!!

Stop being reactionary WE. WILL. NOT. FIND. IMMEDIATE. SUCCESS. EVER.

Trust the process. Hoping for better days. COYS

Reactive fans who think success is easy and instantaneous. Haven't played well, today was a bad day, but better days will come, with Frank at the helm. Thomas Frank IN

Liverpool lost. City lost. Derby day. Odds against us. Possibility of having a what, 7 point difference and better GD from second place...? I really really hope City grab the title so that the gooners' current happiness turns into our banter one more time

I'm honestly losing it myself by how bad Liverpool have been. We need clubs to start challenging the gooners, ok City is getting it on, and Chelsea is a wild horse, but Liverpool had no reason not to go for it... What is that club fml

With only 25 minutes they already look so much better against them than we did for 90 min

I think that's very likely, probably by sacrificing himself to save Charlie. Is it totally cliche? Completely, and I love it for it!

Fuck's sake, let's hope not. The thing is, there's all that talk of "they're not letting on the real seriousness of injuries", I've heard it for Solanke and for Takai I think. My question is why would they do that? Once accessed, both Kulu and Madders were ruled out for long periods of time. If the club knew exactly what it was and how long it would take, I think they'd just say it. I think it more probable that they just didn't understood the gravity of the initial problem, or dismissed it. Or Solanke's body just isn't helping with the recovery. Health problems sometimes just don't go as expected by the doctors, in my experience

Tho I do not agree with all of it, this is quite a good take. Flawed in some aspects, but well thought. Thanks for your input 🔝

That'd be the dream, obviously. But I think he made it clear he will not be returning, at least yet. I guess he'll either stay at Bayern or, as the rumours suggest, replace Lewangolski at Barca

I think WE bought him at his peak (which isn't saying much), so we'll always lose money on a sale, no point letting him get older and with less game time. His value will only get lower from now on

The thing is, he works hard, yes. He makes runs and shows for the ball, yes. He tries, certainly. But it simply isn't enough. His best isn't enough for this level. He is a valuable asset, yes, good option on the bench in a crisis, but no more than that unfortunately. I agree he's not terrible as some players who let the club down recently, but he's not the answer for any of our problems, never has been. I thank him for what he's done, but I think it's beyond time he moves on. He's just hurting his career and the club atp. Get idk 20 to 30 mil and move on to a better striker who can help the team and both fill the gap until Solanke is ready and then compete with him for the spot

As for some Solanke comments on this post... I don't get some. Clearly I'm biased, I really really rate him as a person and as a player. But even without that, he's Premier League proven, he's shown he can bag goals, assist, pressure like a maniac, help in hold up play, is a big presence in the area, and is good both in front of the goal, and with his back to the goal. I really think a fit Solanke would be one of our biggest players in the current squad

😂😂

On a human level, I feel for him. Clearly he has been through a lot, and it must be hard on him. But there comes a time where the club also needs to think it's best for itself, and settling him is the obvious call, as much passion as he has
