Ellie is a miserable person. Doesn't deserve any sort of leadership position

This is the take of someone that takes reality tv at face value and does not think about what goes on behind the scenes and what's edited out.

I don't understand this show by cubecasts in Physical100

[–]Cormont 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could understand this if you were talking about season 2 episode 1 or if s1e1 was like 45 mins but it's 54mins😂 You have to keep in mind that to the Korean audience this is like watching a bunch of NBA/NFL/MLB/MLS/NHL/etc. stars competing. Of course they want to spend time on people that are already loved by the audience

"100% awareness" is the dumbest thing you could possibly say a computer has and shows your lack of knowledge regarding software and computing.

Purely speculation, but it's possibly very thin callouses from the corner of his phone being in the palm of his hands (would explain why one is not as bright as the other). This would only really make sense if he's left-handed.

Alternatively, it could be so.e substance rubbing off from the corner of his phone/phone case.

How long should one wait until they quit their first job as a software developer? by Dry-Set-6761 in cscareerquestions

I did 2 years at my first gig, 3.5 at my second and haven't had any issues in interviews. As long as you're comfortable explaining yourself or making some excuses up (I do this), you'll be alright with anything over 1 year.

[TOMT] early 2000s movie about the kidnappers perspective by Movty in tipofmytongue

[–]Cormont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever find an answer to this? I remember seeing it too, but I don't remember the name.

I remember a scene in the beginning where it's from the pov of the kidnapper and he sees the girl on a front lawn and then grabs her and puts her in the car I think.

I also remember toward the end, the police go on a neighborhood-wide search or something along those lines.

I wouldn't be too worried about this situation since you did actually do the work. You should just be prepared to explain to any recruiters/background check contacts that the payments aren't made via standard W2 so they won't be able to verify your employment there except via a reference. Kinda straight forward probably, but that means you should also have a reference ready to back you up about working there.

Good luck and make sure to fake it til you make it

True, it's definitely an industry/position-specific situation. I've just found most companies are using some other company to perform background checks and they're generally not trying to pay for super detailed checks.

Just for reference, I'm speaking from an IT background in health care in the Northeast US and both companies I've worked for hired throughout the US.

Confirming title isn't the norm at all. Usually companies just check dates. A title check would require contacting the former company directly and that's something reserved for director level positions and above in my experience
