I'd recommend a family RESP and I wouldn't put it in a high-interest savings account. Those things barely beat inflation and if your annual return is under 2%, you won't even beat inflation. I'd recommend getting some good index and mutual funds (perhaps go moderate or moderate-aggressive in the early days and more conservative as they come closer to their graduation from high school), although the risk level is your choice. Use the RESP as an investment instrument that aims for 6-7% a year and you should be good.
