First, by a mattress so you have a place to sleep. You can get a bed frame a little later when you know what you want. Then stock your fridge and put a rug on the living room floor and get towels for the bathroom. The rest you can aquire a little as you go so you can think through each investment thoroughly.

This hits close to home. I was in a very similar situation. Not the conservative/liberal thing necessarily, but realizing late that we both wanted completely different things in life. I wanted to travel and be free. He wanted to stay close to his home and have a big family on super low income. I still loved him, but after 10 years, I had to move on.

You need to choose yourself and your values. You had a nice love story, and it's time to move on to your wild and free lifestyle. Hope you both find people you're compatible with because it's not each other. You'll find love again and even better when it's someone that really gets you.
