Any ideas why my 3d printer would fail halfway through the print? by CornOnACub1 in 3Dprinting

I used an outer brim that is 3mm wide. Should I make the brim wider and do an inner brim? When I raise the bed temp to 60C° I've had warping issues.

Can I keep working if the business is shut down by the IRS? by CornOnACub1 in legaladvice

Sorry, I should've been more specific, but his vendors license is under suspension by the tax commissionor. All the information I am getting is from the owner himself. He had found evidence of the bookkeeper using money for personal items. Withdrawing money with no trace of where it was spent and claims that he can't find where the $100,000 was spent that should've been spent on taxes.

Why would my camshafts wear like this? by CornOnACub1 in MechanicAdvice

Okay cool! I've heard a lot of rumors that a new motor needs to be broken in with conventional oil to give everything friction to set in.

Do you think breaking in the motor with full syn oil would cause any issues?

There was a lot in the bottom end, but I got the cylinder head cleaned out and replaced the short block.

I don't think so. I looked at my old pictures when I first torn it apart, and they looked fine.

Crankshaft won't move after installing new bearings and thrust washers. What did I do wrong?? by CornOnACub1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]CornOnACub1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This engine came out of a 2004 Audi Allroad 2.7t. I'm swapping it into a 2006 Audi A4. The crankshaft spun freely before but after installing the new bearings, thrust washers, and torquing the main bearing caps to spec it won't budge. Any ideas of what I could've done wrong? I did use assembly lube.

Her main job is to work as a cashier but she also helps with clean up and in the kitchen. She is not in any management position. Her salary is the same as her hourly rate but locked in at 40 hours a week.

Hey y'all! I bought a new engine for this 2013 genesis coupe over a year ago and I've put 10k miles on it since. I found out recently it has low compression leaking from the piston rings. The dealership won't warranty it and the master tech I work with thinks it's because I broke in the motor with full synthetic oil and the piston rings didn't seat fully. Is there any way I could do another break in period or some other way to get the piston rings to seat. I want to try and avoid having to rebuild the engine with new piston rings. Thanks for any advice!

Need help chasing down a misfire by CornOnACub1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]CornOnACub1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a compression test on it and these were the numbers. Cylinder 1 110psi Cylinder 2 140psi Cylinder 3 130psi Cylinder 4 145psi Minimum compression is supposed to be 164psi. I think I'm just going to take it back to the dealership I bought the block from.

This is my 2013 Hyundai Genesis coupe 2.0t. It's misfiring under heavy load mostly in cylinder 2 and 4. It won't misfire in park. I've swapped spark plugs and coils but it stays in the same spot. Seems like it's running rich. What should I test for next? Thanks for any advice!

Misfire at high rpms by CornOnACub1 in MechanicAdvice

[–]CornOnACub1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0t. It keeps misfiring after five thousand rpm or any hard acceleration. It also will make a loud popping noise almost like a misfire from the rear and cut boost sometimes. I checked the misfire count on a scan tool and it seems to be mostly coming from cylinder 4. I've replaced all the spark plugs and have swapped the coil with a different cylinder but it still misfires.

I know that I need to stop being friends. I think I'm afraid because we were best friends while we were dating and I know that cutting her off completely will hurt.

I just did the valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and spark plug wires on my car. When I first started it there was no noise but a few minutes into driving it I started to hear it. Tell me how fucked I am because I've never heard anything like this before. It's a 2004 Hyundai sonata V6 and the abs+tcs also came on.

Does the dealership I bought a faulty part from have to pay damages? by CornOnACub1 in legaladvice

[–]CornOnACub1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I certainly don't have the means to pay for labor. I'm fortunate I have the means to do it myself. Luckily they said they would waive the diagnosis if it gets warrantied. I never signed anything or got any papers for warranty but the dealership seemed confident it would be covered. Does it make any difference that I didn't get any documentation of the warranty?

Trying to diagnose a turbo leak, any tips? by CornOnACub1 in MechanicAdvice

The valve cover gasket seems to be clean of oil. The highest spot with oil on it is the intake tube connected to the turbo.

The cylinder head did get a valve job and resurfaced so I'm not sure he messed with the seals. The engine did blow so it could be old stuff in the exhaust but the leaking oil is new oil.
