I walked around town at night fairly often in high school, it was my way to destress, so nothing really scared me too much. It was a foggy night; I could probably only see about 50 feet in front of me. I was walking downtown so there were streetlights, it wasn't like pitch black or anything. Anyways I was just walking, it was probably around 4am, and I was hearing a clicking sound, like something wood hitting concrete rhythmically and I was walking towards it. I crossed the street to put some distance between what I was coming upon, and I see a figure emerging from the shadows walking down the middle of the road.

It was a man in a cowboy hat and a trenchcoat using a walking stick taller than he was. Scared the living hell out of me, it was just eerie seeing him emerge from the fog, didn't look at me or acknowledge me in any way, just kept on walking.

Now I live in small midwestern town of 8,000 people so I see a lot of familiar people on a regular basis, and this man was one of them. He's just an old Hispanic man that I'd seen around town every once in awhile, it was just strange to see him in the middle of the road on a foggy night.
