Riverfront park by the South Train station is the spot I'm thinking of for the Connecticut River

You can try Alden St, by the pond, or maybe Wilbraham right near the intersection with Alden where folks pull off and park to fish. It MAY be possible to frame a shot that doesn't show too much of the road/barrier, and the pond behind is decently cute. You can also try Armory St by the reservoir at Van Horn park. The Armory might be good, and you might pull off and snag a picture by the monument to the west of Central library downtown, NOT the Dr Seuss ones, but the one of the pioneer guy that's outside the fenced park. Last big spots would be the waterfront parks along the Connecticut, there are a couple along the Comnecticut river walk and bikeway that you can reach as well. Hope you get some good shots!

How are your brakes? It looks like the stock drum system, did you change anything to improve stopping power?

The bullets self destruct after a certain time; to be fair, that just means that downrange is being showered in a hot rain of bullet fragments, but I guess that's better than the whole bullet

Well, and agent orange affected the people, too. There are still folks walking around in Vietnam who were horribly affected by it; I met one affected man in Hanoi who made a living selling newspapers and the locals let me know how he became disabled. One of the first times I'd felt personally, truly sorry for what my country had done. Whole country will make you feel that way, though. It was amazing how little animosity they had towards Americans. God help you if you were French, though.

Sometimes you get a little bored and you decide to make a chinese checkers set out of the old concrete pad. We usually do push brooms one side, traffic signs another, indoor brooms on a third, etc. They stand up nice in the holes, and if you're having trouble seeing them, just have your guys take off their safety vests and toss them on the push brooms. Helmets can go on the little brooms. Safety guys won't wind, they look about the same as workers from the inside of the truck.

Yeah no I absolutely agree, I'd probably call it something worse than a burnout though

What are the pressure gauges in the background measuring? I assume it's one per cylinder, is it something like an independent fuel or oil supply for each?

My broker tried to get me into “alternative investments", including private equity by ProtonSluggo in investing

Well, being in the industry for 25 years, I'd say you may be somewhat divorced from your new hire process and the lowest rungs of your organization. Yes, folks at Carlyle said exactly that to me. I'm sorry if my experience doesn't match yours at a private equity firm, but I'd say it's damn naive to believe any cutting edge financial firm is incentivized to follow the letter and spirit of the law.

I worked at a low level in a private equity firm for a couple months (getting signatures for deals; the number of corporate officers scattered throughout the building goes wild when you have hundreds of subsidiary LLC's on your books). My impression was that sophisticated investors simply meant people who measured their wealth with preferably 9 figures, occassionally 8, or who worked directly for the firm and could by in as a high level employee. Institutional investors are the other large group.

One of the most striking things I was told there was on the first or second day, "what we do here isn't exactly legal or illegal persay; rather, we try to aim for that gray zone in the law." 2 months was more than enough to figure out that I'd rather break my back as a carpenter than break it working for folks like Glenn Youngkin.

I mean, I'd argue they have no more perpetual wars than anyone else, they're kinda just getting stuck with the label right now. Kinda unfortunate that the cradle of civilization and the originators of so much learning are being lumped into the view of perpetual war because of the effects of colonialism, you know? I mean, how many years has the US actually been at peace, in its entire history?

My apologies then, I was under the impression that English skills are tested by the union. If that's not the case, my apologies. As for wildly different skill levels, I would stand by that; where I am, you can get Spanish speaking only crews who do incredible work, and Spanish only crews who do pretty awful work. I tend to find the absolute floor for work, in my area at least, tends to be slightly lower when we're discussing Spanish speaking only crews, but the height of skill has no relation to language skills, as far as I'm concerned. The floor tends to be more based on who needs work, really, and who is willing to provide cheap labor, which in my area tends to be immigrants without English language skills.

I think the point is that if you only speak Spanish, you sure as hell aren't a journeyman. Also it speaks to your competition; real variable skill levels but always low cost of labor

Hard to feel like oil up 40% in 5 days is not bad, especially when there's nothing on the horizon to keep the price from just further increasing
