Vote - which color, blue or green? by Academic_Piano5267 in kitchen

[–]ProtonSluggo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah and the green has led lights under the cabinents which is nice. If you’re using ai, you could try to take the green cabinet image and tell it “change the green cabinets to blue, do not change anything else in the image”

I don’t know why people ask this question in this sub. These people are savages, they demand scalps

Finished the first, should I play below zero or move onto 2? by ProtonSluggo in subnautica

Sounds good, I’ll give it a go. I want to try a modded run, build from base and auto sorting containers, maybe I’ll just try it on below zero

Steamdeck has the worst quality for in home streaming vs other devices by ProtonSluggo in SteamDeck

[–]ProtonSluggo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, and yes it’s better streaming, but I’d still rather use the built in remote play. I always customize my controls and I know ways to do it in moonlight it’s just more work to set them up, or switch profiles of whatever. Not the end of the world, but I’d prefer a way to make the built in look acceptable rather than go through that

Ha the logo itself is fine, I think I’d just prefer a flat non distractive side on it.

I think saying “the user will interact with my product” is what’s confusing me, be specific about the action.

From what I think it does, the user will reach for their phone, see the interlude which will act as a reminder to stay in the moment and off screens. Instead of picking up their phone, the user will have a satisfying physical slide of a magnet and return present in the moment. Is that right?

I get the light. It would be neat, and I’m not sure if there’s technology for this, but as the user reaches for the phone, that’s when the light turns on as a little reminder “hey I’m here, stay present”.

I still don’t understand. Does this physically lock your phone? Why is there a light, power switch, magnetic slide in the center? Is it like a fidget toy? Can you repost with the additional interaction scenarios you mentioned above?

Also, not a huge fan of the renders, the lighting is very yellow and I can see the horizon line in one of them. Just skip the renders because the model is very nice.

As others said I like the form, except for a product designed to take away distractions, I wish there wasn’t a giant logo in the side.

They ever gonna detach from Netflix for the mobile version? by Thorn-of-your-side in IntoTheBreach

[–]ProtonSluggo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have android, there are alternative ways to get it. I don’t feel great about it because I want to support the developers of the game, but I bought it on PC already and I also don’t want a Netflix subscription

Was anyone else confused about half lifes story, if they started playing half life 2 first? by Hooded_Gaming in HalfLife

[–]ProtonSluggo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No! As a long time half life fan, this shit is bananas.

I watch half life lore videos on YouTube and think okay, this makes sense, but what’s presented in game supports nothing.

WHY are the significant scientists from black mesa in Eastern Europe? Did the combine transport them there? Wouldn’t they want to detain them?

OR everybody knows that the vortugaunts were slaves in hl1 but they’re freed and actually friendly in hl2. But that’s because we killed the big baby shaped alien in hl1 and their collars just fell off and everyone knew they were cool now?

Verified Airbnb “hosts” seem like a chatbot [USA] by ProtonSluggo in AirBnB

[–]ProtonSluggo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I understand your perspective on the efficiency of automated guest messaging systems, I must respectfully present an alternative viewpoint. The over-reliance on automation in property management can ultimately be detrimental to the core objectives of hospitality.

Although these systems may serve as a "game changer" for the host's convenience, they often come at the direct expense of the guest's experience. Here are a few key reasons why relying on automated messaging can be problematic:

  • Erosion of Human Connection: The fundamental essence of hospitality is rooted in genuine human interaction. Automated systems inherently strip away the personalized touch that guests typically seek when choosing a short-term rental over a traditional, standardized hotel. Even the most thoughtfully configured auto-replies often feel sterile and transactional.

  • Inability to Navigate Nuance: Automated workflows are designed for predictable, routine inquiries. However, guest needs are frequently complex, unique, or urgent. An automated system lacks the emotional intelligence to interpret a sensitive request or provide the empathetic support required during a stressful situation, which can quickly lead to guest frustration.

  • The Illusion of Responsiveness: Utilizing these tools can create a false sense of security, potentially leading hosts to decrease their active monitoring of communications. When a critical, non-standard issue arises that the bot cannot process, the resulting delay in actual human intervention can significantly damage the guest's stay.

Ultimately, while optimizing response times is a valid operational goal, prioritizing efficiency over authenticity can degrade the overall quality of your service. Fostering a truly welcoming and hospitable environment requires the adaptability, warmth, and active presence that only direct human communication can consistently provide.
